About Job

As Senior Tax & Filings Specialist for Americas, you own the statutory compliance for the three most

complex payroll jurisdictions in the Western Hemisphere — the United States, Brazil, and Mexico. This is

the highest-volume and highest-complexity filing role in the Taxes and Filings team.

The United States requires management of IRS Form 941 quarterly filings, FICA and FUTA obligations,

and state-level payroll tax compliance across every state where Multiplier's EoR clients have employees

— up to 50 different state frameworks simultaneously. Brazil operates via eSocial — a real-time unified

reporting platform that requires event-level statutory data to be submitted before each payroll run.

Mexico requires a digitally stamped SAT CFDI electronic receipt for every single salary payment made

to every employee, with penalties applied per missing or invalid stamp.

You will be a founding member of the Taxes and Filings team within Multiplier's Payroll Centre of

Excellence — owning the Americas statutory compliance framework from Day 1, with full accountability

for filings, remittances, reconciliations, and notice management across your three Tier 1 countries.

While the Kep responsibilities will primary involve setting up the foundation for the Taxes and

Filings vertical, it will also become your responsibility to convert this into an auto pilot process,

where we ensure zero people driven activities and convert these into a highly efficient process

driven vertical.

Skills & Qualification
  • Americas statutory expertise — you understand Brazil's eSocial event structure, you know

the difference between US deposit schedules, and you understand why a missing CFDI

stamp in Mexico is a critical compliance failure. Your knowledge goes deep.

    ● High-volume management — Americas generates the highest filing volume in the team. You are

organised, systematic, and do not let volume become an excuse for errors.

    ● Bilingual or multilingual capability — Spanish or Portuguese language skills are a significant

advantage for Brazil and Mexico statutory work, where government portals and notices are not

    available in English.

    ● Composure under regulatory pressure — IRS notices, eSocial rejections, and SAT queries require

calm, structured responses. You do not panic; you diagnose and resolve.

  • Technical Skills

    ● US: Experience with EFTPS (Electronic Federal Tax Payment System), IRS Online Services, and

multi-state payroll tax portals. Familiarity with ADP, Gusto, Rippling, or similar US payroll

    platforms for tax filing exports.

    ● Brazil: Hands-on experience with eSocial web portal event submission, DARF generation via

Receita Federal tools, and FGTS portal management. Experience with Domínio, Totvs Folha, or

    similar Brazil payroll platforms.

    ● Mexico: Experience with SAT CFDI generation via a certified PAC provider, IMSS SUA platform

for bi-monthly declarations, and SAT Buzón Tributario for notice management.

    ● Excel proficiency — multi-country payroll data reconciliation across large datasets.

  • Nice to Have

    ● Knowledge of additional Americas jurisdictions — Canada (CRA, CPP, EI, T4 slips), Colombia

(PILA platform), Chile (AFP, SII), or Argentina (AFIP, SIPA).

    ● Experience in an EoR, PEO (Professional Employer Organisation), or global payroll technology

    company.

    ● CPP (Certified Payroll Professional), CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.

Responsibilities
  • Statutory Filing & Remittance

Own every filing and payment for Americas Tier 1 countries — at the highest volume in the team

    ● United States: File IRS Form 941 quarterly returns. Process federal tax deposits (FICA — Social

Security 6.2% + Medicare 1.45% — and FUTA) on schedule (monthly or semi-weekly based on

deposit schedule). Manage state income tax withholding remittances for all states where EoR

employees are located. File state unemployment insurance (SUI) returns quarterly across all

applicable states. Issue W-2s to all US EoR employees by 31 January annually. Submit ACA

reporting (Forms 1094-C and 1095-C) where applicable.

    ● Brazil: Submit all eSocial events — including S-1200 (payroll remuneration), S-1210 (payments),

and S-1299 (payroll closure) — before each payroll run via the eSocial web portal. Process

monthly INSS DARF (employer social security) and FGTS DARF (severance fund — 8% of gross

salary) payments. Submit monthly IRRF (income tax withholding) via DARF. Prepare and submit

annual DIRF (withholding income tax declaration) to Receita Federal. Manage mandatory 13th

salary payments in November/December. Reconcile eSocial data with payroll register before each

    cycle.

    ● Mexico: Generate and stamp SAT CFDI electronic payroll receipts for every salary payment to

every employee — submitting to SAT via authorised PAC (Authorised Certification Provider)

before each payment is made. File bi-monthly IMSS SUA (social security contribution) and

INFONAVIT (housing fund — 5%) declarations. Submit monthly ISR provisional payment (DIOT to

SAT). Manage state-level ISN (payroll tax) filings for each state where employees are located.

  • Maintain internal deadlines at minimum 5 business days before every statutory deadline — 10

business days for Brazil (Receita Federal penalties begin from Day 1 of delay, the highest

    penalty-risk jurisdiction in Americas).

  • Pre-Payroll Statutory Validation

In Brazil, eSocial events must be submitted before the payroll run — not after

    ● Brazil eSocial validation: Review and submit all pre-payroll eSocial events (S-2200 new hires, S-

2206 employment contract amendments, S-2230 temporary absence) before the payroll run is

initiated. Validate that the S-1200 payroll remuneration event data matches the payroll register

exactly before submission — any discrepancy causes eSocial rejection and payroll delay.

    ● US multi-state validation: Flag all new employees hired in new states — triggering SUI registration

and state income tax withholding setup requirements before the first payroll run in that state.

Review any supplemental wage payments (bonuses, commissions) for correct federal

supplemental withholding rate treatment (22% federal flat rate or aggregate method) before the

    payroll run.

    ● Mexico CFDI validation: Confirm that all CFDI stamps from the previous cycle have been

successfully accepted by SAT (no rejection or pending status) before the current cycle's payroll

run is approved. Flag any employees with new payment methods or salary changes that affect

    CFDI structure.

    ● Review all Americas termination payments for correct statutory treatment — US final pay state law

compliance, Brazil FGTS settlement calculation (including 40% penalty), and Mexico finiquito

calculation (proportional 13th salary, vacation, and seniority premium).

  • Three-Way Reconciliation & Audit Readiness

Americas generates the highest statutory payment volume in the team

    ● Complete three-way reconciliation for all Americas Tier 1 countries after every cycle — US:

reconcile Form 941 liability against FICA deposits and payroll register. Brazil: reconcile eSocial

payroll data (S-1200) against INSS DARF payment, FGTS DARF payment, and payroll output.

Mexico: reconcile CFDI stamped amounts against payroll register and IMSS/ISR payment

    confirmations.

    ● Collect and upload all proof of statutory payment within 2 business days — IRS EFTPS payment

confirmation numbers, state tax payment receipts, Brazilian DARF payment receipts from Receita

Federal, EPFO FGTS payment confirmations, and SAT CFDI acceptance status reports — stored

by country, cycle, and obligation type.

    ● Manage Americas notice management — IRS CP notices, state tax authority correspondence,

Brazilian Receita Federal notifications, and SAT Mexico enquiries — responding within 10

business days and escalating to legal counsel where required.

  • Legislative Monitoring

Americas regulatory environments change at federal and state level simultaneously

    ● Monitor US federal and state-level legislative changes — IRS payroll tax rate updates, state SUI

rate notifications, state income tax withholding table updates, and new state-specific payroll taxes

(PFML expansions, SDI changes). Track and implement updates across all states where EoR

    employees are located.

    ● Monitor Brazilian eSocial table updates, INSS contribution rate changes, FGTS updates, and

Receita Federal regulatory publications — implementing changes before the effective date and

updating the Brazil Country Statutory Playbook accordingly.

    ● Monitor SAT Mexico CFDI version updates, IMSS contribution rate announcements, and ISN state

rate changes — coordinating with the Mexico-based PAC provider to ensure CFDI stamp

    generation reflects current rules.

Essential Experience

● 5 to 8 years of hands-on Americas payroll statutory compliance experience — directly owning

filings and remittances, not overseeing them.

● Deep practical knowledge of at least two of the three Tier 1 Americas countries: US multi-state

payroll tax compliance (Form 941, FICA, state SUI and income tax), Brazil eSocial and statutory

filings (INSS, FGTS, IRRF, DIRF), or Mexico SAT CFDI, IMSS, and ISR obligations. Knowledge of

all three is strongly preferred.

● Direct experience managing US multi-state payroll tax compliance — including SUI registrations in

new states, state income tax withholding table updates, and state-specific payroll tax obligations

(PFML, SDI, etc.).

● Hands-on experience with Brazil's eSocial platform — understanding the event hierarchy, pre-

payroll validation requirements, and correction procedures for rejected events.

● Experience generating and managing SAT CFDI stamped payroll receipts via an authorised PAC

provider in Mexico.

● Track record of 100% on-time statutory filing compliance in a multi-country, high-volume payroll

environment.
