About the roleWe're hiring a Technical Project Manager to own delivery of our most complex cross-functional work, reporting to the Head of Product and Data.
Our programs rarely live inside one team. A single launch can touch hardware in hundreds of stores, the content scheduling platform, data pipelines, measurement methodology, a partner's API, and a retailer's rollout calendar. You'll be the person who turns that into a plan, keeps it honest, and gets it shipped.
This is a hands-on role for someone with a real technical background. You won't write production code, but you'll be expected to understand the architecture well enough to challenge an estimate, spot a hidden dependency, and explain a technical tradeoff to a sales leader or a retail partner in plain language.
Responsibilities- Own delivery end to end. Take multi-team programs from scoping through launch across our device platform, content and scheduling systems, data infrastructure, measurement, and partner integrations.
- Turn priorities into plans. Break roadmap goals into milestones with clear owners, dependencies, and dates, and keep them current as things change.
- Run the operating rhythm. Lead planning, status, and risk reviews. Keep our project tracking (Linear) accurate enough that leadership can trust it without asking.
- Surface risk early. Flag slips before they happen and come with options and tradeoffs, not just a red status.
- Coordinate partner and customer technical work. Scope and track retailer rollouts, pilots, and integrations with ad servers, SSPs, and data partners. Support technical answers for RFIs and RFPs.
- Translate between worlds. Bridge Engineering and Data with Sales, RevOps, and Account teams so commitments made to customers match what we can actually build.
- Report upward. Write concise weekly summaries for executive leadership on progress, risks, and decisions needed.
- Improve how we work. Build and refine the templates, health checks, and playbooks that make delivery repeatable as the team grows.
- 5+ years delivering technical work, with at least 3 in a project, program, or delivery lead role.
- A hands-on technical foundation, ideally time spent as a software or data engineer. You can read an architecture diagram, reason about APIs and data pipelines, and tell a sound estimate from a hopeful one.
- A track record shipping complex programs across engineering, data, design, and business stakeholders, including at least one where scope, people, or priorities shifted midstream.
- Clear, concise writing. Your status updates get read, and your plans answer questions before they're asked.
- Fluency with Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban) and the judgment to use only as much process as the work needs.
- Comfort with budgets, capacity planning, and scoping work against real constraints.
- Experience working directly with clients or external partners. A consulting or agency background is a strong plus.
- Experience in retail media, adtech, or digital out-of-home (DOOH).
- Background with IoT, connected devices, or managing hardware deployed in the field.
- Familiarity with data platforms and BI tools (Omni, Looker, dbt, Snowflake, or similar).
- Exposure to measurement, attribution, or experimentation work.
- Experience building a program management practice or delivery playbook from scratch.
- Experience with AI-assisted delivery workflows and a point of view on where they help.
- Apply: We review applications as soon as we can. You should hear back about your application within two weeks.
- Hiring Manager Interview: Meet with the hiring manager (virtually or in-person) to share your background, learn about the role, and confirm this is the right role/environment for you.
- Introduction to HR: Meet our HR team virtually to align on logistics, include compensation, in office expectations, benefit offerings. This is a great time to ask any questions you missed during your interview with the hiring manager.
- Technical Interview: Visit our office in-person or remotely for a technical interview that relates to the role. You’ll respond to a prompt, and our team will ask questions to better understand your skillset.
- Virtual Values Interview: Meet with two Grocery TV employees who you’ll work cross functionally with to discuss team collaboration. This is a perfect opportunity for you to ask us questions, too!
- Virtual Leadership Interview: Lastly, all candidates have a final interview with a member of the leadership team. This conversation gives you the opportunity to reflect on the interview process and affirm this is the right role for you.
