Job Description

Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Data Centre sector globally. Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business in Germany, we are currently recruiting for experienced (Senior) Technical Project Manager (m/f/d) to join our Data Centre team in Berlin. 

In this role, you will oversee the pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and close-out phases of a hyperscale, state of the art data center project for a global technology client onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire project lifecycle, from design to construction to commissioning, ensuring that the project is completed within budget, on time, and to the required quality standards as the key client interface
  • Develop working relationships, problem solving and driving projects to successful completion
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure that project requirements are met and any issues are resolved
  • Manage the design process to achieve the client's requirements and manage expectations
  • Review project plans and specifications, scheduling, costs saving measures, discrepancies, potential construction problems, etc.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the project, including safety, quality, and environmental standards, are in compliance with industry regulations and standards
  • Co-ordinating vendor scope with overall project delivery
  • Working closely with project teams to ensure effective and timely document processing and management of contract documents
  • Prepare regular reports for stakeholders, including progress updates, budget status, and risk management

Qualifications

  • University degree in a Construction a related field.
  • Several  years project management experience, gained within a Data Centre or similar technical environment.
  • Technical understanding of Data Centre Infrastructure – HVAC, Electrical, Generators, Fire, Security and BMS.
  • A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project inception stage, design, authority approvals through to construction completion and post-project review.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques.
  • Ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
  • Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to your client.
  • Fluent English and German language skills are a must.
  • Availability for fulltime on-site work.
