As a Sr. Usability Analyst at Hagerty, you’ll be responsible for leading user-centered research and usability testing that improves the digital experience of Hagerty’s Insurance website. This role focuses on optimizing the new business quoting process, policy management experiences, and the agent business center for brokers, to ensure intuitive, accessible, and effective customer journeys.

What you’ll do
Lead and conduct usability research for Hagerty’s Insurance digital products, with a primary focus on new business quoting, policy management, claims, and broker/agent experiences.
Design, plan, and execute qualitative and quantitative research studies including usability testing, remote and in‑person research, surveys, and field studies.
Partner closely with product owners, designers, engineers, and business stakeholders to identify user needs, validate requirements, and inform design decisions.
Analyze research findings, web analytics, and usability results to generate actionable insights and clearly communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
Develop personas, journey maps, task flows, and workflow models to represent customer and agent needs across the insurance lifecycle.
Review and validate UI designs using heuristic evaluations, accessibility standards, and usability best practices.
Conduct accessibility reviews and audits to ensure compliance with WCAG standards and inclusive design principles.
Establish, promote, and reinforce usability standards, methods, and best practices across teams.
Mentor and support designers and team members by promoting data‑driven design and usability best practices.
Stay current with UX, research, and insurance‑related digital trends, recommending improvements that deliver measurable business value.
This might describe you
Bachelor’s degree in Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Psychology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in usability research, UX research, or user‑centered design.
Expert knowledge of usability and research methodologies such as usability testing, A-B testing, heuristic evaluations, ethnographic research, persona development, surveys, and analytics‑driven insights.
Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis skills with the ability to translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Ability to independently plan, moderate, analyze, and report on usability studies.
Experience using usability tools such as Axure, Figma, User Testing, Userlytics, Optimal Workshop, Usability Hub/Lyssna; as well as web analytic tools such as Adobe Analytics and Contentsquare.
Over and above
Experience working on insurance, financial services, or other regulated digital products.
Hands‑on experience with accessibility auditing/testing and assistive technologies.
Experience using AI tools to assist with research and analysis.

This role can be worked from any U.S. remote location.
May require occasional travel for team or company events.
