We are seeking a Senior Vice President, Solutions Architecture to lead one of the company’s most critical growth engines: our global pre-sales organization. This executive will own the vision and strategy for how we show up technically with customers and will be directly accountable for driving durable, up‑market revenue growth. By partnering tightly with Sales and Product, this executive will lead a world‑class team that influences our technical GTM, wins complex modernization and AI workloads, and proves MongoDB as the database of choice for the most demanding enterprise applications.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in New York for our hybrid working model.

What you’ll do
  • Define and communicate a clear vision and roadmap for the global Solutions Architecture organization, shaping our technical GTM, improving win rates, and driving our AI, modernization, and strategic workload priorities
  • Lead a large, global solutions architecture organization, ensuring the right structure, leadership bench, and operating model to support sustained growth across segments, regions, and products
  • Partner closely with Sales leadership to accelerate revenue growth, drive technical engagement on high-value opportunities, and foster strong executive relationships with strategic accounts
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to shape roadmap priorities with field and customer insights, refine scalable technical narratives and reference architectures, and ensure seamless feedback loops into product decisions
  • Build and develop a world-class leadership talent pool, attracting, growing, and retaining top pre-sales talent while fostering an inclusive, high-performing, high-trust culture across regions and business segments
  • Design and drive accountability for best-practice operating rhythms (e.g., planning, reviews, forecasting contributions, KPIs like win rates and deal velocity) that optimize team performance and drive impactful outcomes
  • Lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives (e.g., AI & modern architectures, new sales motions, partner models), ensuring alignment and adoption across functions and geographies
  • Drive global consistency in methodologies, tools, and best practices (e.g., MEDDIC, value-based discovery, solution design, POCs, and technical win strategies) to optimize resource effectiveness and deal velocity
  • Serve as a visible executive sponsor with key customers and partners, representing MongoDB’s technical strategy and long-term vision
  • Own the budget and investment strategy for the global Solutions Consulting org; make data-driven tradeoffs that optimize impact, scalability, and long-term value creation
  • Model MongoDB’s Leadership Commitment and high-performance culture by driving clear, candid communication through change and transformation, centering decisions on enterprise priorities
What you’ll bring
  • 20+ years of relevant experience, with 10+ years in technical pre-sales, solutions consulting, sales engineering, or similar customer-facing technical roles, including enterprise software/cloud/data platforms
  • 3+ years successfully leading division-level or equivalent pre-sales organizations, navigating high velocity change, organizational complexity, and cross-functional collaboration while delivering measurable revenue impact
  • Proven ability to set and execute strategic enterprise-wide change (e.g., GTM redesign, new product introductions, AI/modernization programs, major sales motion shifts) and design scalable operating models to drive sustained growth and measurable business impact
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate market changes, customer needs, and drive innovation through investments in cloud/data/AI-driven GTM environments
  • Deep expertise and thought leadership in modern GTM and sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC / MEDDPICC), and a track record of institutionalizing these frameworks at scale—setting standards, inspecting rigor, and holding senior GTM leaders accountable to them
  • Track record of owning a full P&L or functional budget: making strategic investment decisions, managing tradeoffs, and improving productivity and ROI over time
  • Track record of building high-performing, inclusive leadership teams by addressing performance issues quickly and fairly, and creating cultures grounded in development, transparency, and continuous feedback
  • Sound technical and commercial judgment working with complex solutions (e.g., cloud platforms, data/AI, infrastructure, developer tools), with depth to drive strategy and investments and build credibility in both technical and business forums
Leadership & mindset
  • Recognized as a “leader of leaders”: you attract, develop, and retain exceptional VP/Director-level talent and build a strong, diverse leadership bench
  • Known for your ability to distill complex technical and commercial issues into clear, compelling narratives for any audience while preserving nuance and integrity
  • Possess strong business acumen and executive gravitas, earning credibility with customer CIOs and senior technology leaders
  • Serve as a key executive sponsor to our most strategic customers and partners by participating in Customer Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and executive programs, representing MongoDB to C-level customer stakeholders
  • Operate as a customer-obsessed executive: you earn trust with customers and partners, and you work backwards from their outcomes to shape our strategy and roadmap.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence long-term vision and strategy for the broader company, not just your function
  • Comfortable making difficult, high-impact decisions that are right for the business, even when they are not the popular choice, and communicating them with clarity and empathy
  • Model a growth mindset: you never stop learning; you set the tone for experimentation, continuous improvement, and innovation across your organization
  • Exceptional communication and adaptive stakeholder management skills, with a track record of aligning Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations, and CS around shared goals
