Define and lead a Wi‑Fi research agenda, develop innovations and simulation tools, draft and present contributions at IEEE 802.11 and Wi‑Fi Alliance, and collaborate with industry partners as a delegation member to shape next‑generation Wi‑Fi.
You will be responsible to define and shape your research agenda under the guidance of some of the top experts in the industry, develop innovations with other members of the Wi-Fi CoE, draft contributions and present these ideas in IEEE 802.11 and Wi-Fi Alliance.
You can also contribute to the development of our industry leading system and link simulation platforms.
You use your experience in academia and/or adjacent standardization organizations like 3GPP to transfer and adapt promising ideas to IEEE 802.11 and Wi-Fi Alliance.
Your Responsibilities:
- Become a key contributor to Nokia’s IEEE 802.11 and/or Wi-Fi Alliance delegation,
- Develop novel concepts for the Wi-Fi 9 era. Evaluate and promote your concepts in IEEE 802.11 and Wi-Fi Alliance
- Collaborate with other companies in IEEE 802.11 and Wi-Fi Alliance to make the next generation Wi-Fi standard a success.
Your skills and experience:
- PhD in EE, CS, Physics, or similar or MS degree and 5+ years of experience as Wi-Fi standardization delegate, development of Wi-Fi link and/or system simulators or extensive standardization experience (IEEE 802.11, Wi-Fi Alliance or 3GPP)
- You have a strong working knowledge of Wi-Fi up to 802.11bn.
- Proven track record of innovations and contributions to wireless standards
- Deep knowledge of how to apply AI/ML in PHY and MAC layer
- Experience in the use of link and simulation tools
- You are enthusiastic about Wi-Fi technology and you are open minded and curious
- Excellent communications skills and track record of working with product lines
- Good understanding of agentic workflows
