About Discovered Labs

Discovered Labs is an SEO and answer engine optimisation (AEO) agency built by a Stanford rocket scientist turned AI researcher (Ben Moore) and a demand gen marketer with experience scaling B2B SaaS companies to 8-figures in ARR (Liam Dunne).

We're a team of ML engineers, data scientists and senior marketers trusted by companies including Instantly, Granola, Composio and other Series A+ B2B SaaS businesses to help generate leads and customers through Google and AI assistants like ChatGPT.

We do this through content marketing, technical optimisations and off-site brand amplification, including PR, backlinks and Reddit marketing.

High-level overview of our approach:

  • AI-powered operations: Our ML team builds internal tools that remove repetitive work and give marketers more time for judgement and execution.

  • Senior judgement: Experienced marketers set the strategy and quality bar, and remain responsible for the work our tools help produce.

  • Full-stack execution: We work across content, technical SEO/AEO and off-site amplification to give clients better outcomes.

Note: If you want to stand out, please include a Loom video showing a tool, system or deliverable you've produced and are proud of. We'd love to see it!

This role

SEO/AEO is already Discovered Labs' top pipeline driver. We're hiring an experienced SEO/AEO Manager who can work confidently with data, run our content workflows, off-page programs and personally ship website improvements (using coding agents like Codex or Claude Code) to grow the qualified opportunities it generates.

You'll report to Liam and agree commercial goals and quarterly direction with him. You'll own day-to-day prioritisation, delivery and reporting. Using and improving our existing methodology, proprietary tools and workflows, you'll diagnose performance, choose priorities and carry work through implementation and measurement.

Your primary outcome is qualified inbound pipeline: relevant buyers discovering us through search and becoming sales opportunities. Keyword positions, relevant organic traffic and AI visibility help you understand whether the work is moving in the right direction.

This is a full-time individual contributor role with no direct reports. The role is fully remote, ideally within ±4 hours of GMT.

Everyone on the Discovered Labs team is tech savvy and data-driven, even if they didn’t start that way. If you have curiosity and the willingness to learn, you’ll thrive here.

What you'll do

You'll run our SEO/AEO programme to generate qualified inbound pipeline, with new content, refreshes and off-page campaigns tied to our pillar and cluster strategy.

  • Develop our pillar and cluster strategy: Maintain our money-keyword universe, group queries by search intent and map priority clusters to target pages, using semantic clustering where useful.

  • Close topic gaps with new content: Run the weekly content loop through our proprietary tools, keeping at least two weeks of approved assignments scheduled against editorial capacity and resolving SEO issues in briefs and drafts. Editors handle QA and publishing.

  • Manage content refreshes: Diagnose content decay, underperformance and cannibalisation. Prepare blog refresh briefs covering keyword targeting, topic coverage and internal linking, then verify the changes and measure results.

  • Build and optimise landing pages: Personally create and improve pages using coding agents and our GitHub repository. Submit tested pull requests and verify live changes.

  • Fix technical SEO issues: Diagnose and fix issues with crawlability, indexation, internal linking, metadata and structured data. Test changes, verify live results and escalate complex engineering work.

  • Own our off-page strategy: Define how targeted link building, Reddit and YouTube support our priority topics and objectives. Brief the specialists who produce the deliverables, review their work and use results to refine the strategy.

  • Close AI visibility and citation gaps: Use embeddings and entity analysis where useful to investigate how AI answers represent and cite Discovered Labs. Test changes against the gaps you find.

  • Build tools that improve delivery: Create and validate scripts, automations and AI workflows for recurring research, analysis and measurement.

  • Connect every action to an objective: Tie each tactic to an overarching strategy and a clear objective: improving performance on commercial keywords, earning AI Overview placements, strengthening brand positioning or generating qualified pipeline. Measure progress against those objectives and use results to decide what to prioritise next.

The ideal person for this role
  • You make commercial SEO decisions. You can choose whether to create, refresh or consolidate content by weighing search intent, existing performance and relevance to the buyers we want to reach.

  • You investigate before concluding. When performance changes, you check competing explanations across content, technical and off-page factors, and distinguish evidence from a plausible story.

  • You turn investigation into implementation. You can take an SEO problem through analysis, a tested website change or a completed content workflow, and measurement of the result. You know which work needs editorial QA or engineering support and arrive with the work ready for that handoff.

  • You enjoy the technical detail. You're curious about embeddings, entities and how content relates semantically. You explore the data, build small tools to test ideas and judge the work by whether it improves a useful decision or outcome.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated SEO execution, with examples of work you personally diagnosed, prioritised and implemented, the results and how you measured them.

  • Experience independently translating business goals into search strategy and a practical delivery plan.

  • Working fluency in Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs or an equivalent research tool, and a crawler such as Screaming Frog. You use them to investigate performance and check figures at source.

  • Practical ability to build and improve website pages and make technical SEO changes using coding agents and GitHub, demonstrated through previous work or an exercise.

  • An AI-assisted tool, script or workflow you've built or materially adapted to solve a real problem. Explain the decisions you made, what AI contributed, how you verified the code, data or output, and what improved.

  • Evidence of rigorous SEO analysis that led to an implemented change: explain the data you used, the competing explanations you checked, your decision and how you measured the result.

  • Reliable delivery tracking in a project management tool such as ClickUp, with clear actions, complete handoffs and documentation others can use.

  • Excellent verbal and written English.

Nice-to-haves (not required)
  • Familiarity with B2B or B2B SaaS. Strong candidates from other SEO backgrounds are welcome.

  • Agency experience or experience coordinating editors and specialist contributors.

  • Deeper Python, SQL, statistics or applied machine-learning skills.

  • Experience measuring AI visibility, analysing citations or running link-building and Reddit programmes.

This role is not for you if…
  • Your work ends with an audit or plan. We need someone who implements changes, resolves blockers and checks what happened afterwards.

  • You treat traffic or citation counts as the final result. We expect you to connect search performance to relevant buyers and qualified opportunities.

  • You ship AI output you cannot explain or verify. You remain responsible for the analysis, recommendations and code you use.

Culture fitYou'll thrive here if:
  • You like small teams, direct feedback and a high degree of autonomy.

  • You're curious about how search is changing and willing to test ideas against evidence.

  • You communicate risks early and welcome a clear challenge to your recommendation.

You won't thrive here if:
  • You need heavy management or wait for perfect instructions before acting.

  • You protect a perfect plan instead of delivering, learning and improving.

  • You need a large team around you before you can produce useful work.

What's in it for you
  • Compensation: $30K - $75K USD (or EUR/GBP equivalent), DOE

  • Fully remote: Work from where you do your best work, ideally within ±4 hours of GMT.

  • Real autonomy: Make daily prioritisation and execution decisions, with direct access to Liam for strategic direction.

  • Our in-house tools and methodology: Learn the proprietary SEO/AEO systems built by our engineers, apply them to our own growth and help improve them. We'll teach you our systems.

  • Depth and visible impact: Build expertise across organic growth, technical SEO and applied analysis through sustained ownership of a programme whose results you can follow over time.

  • Paid leave holidays
