Translate brand, product, creator, audience, and cultural insights into engaging content across social channels. Partner with creative, marketing, community, and growth teams; manage editorial workflows; track trends; and test copy variations using performance data and audience feedback to improve results.
The Role
What You’ll Own
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a Social Copywriter to own the hooks, captions, scripts, and voice that make social content perform across channels. This is a high-output role for a writer who combines sharp creative instincts with an experimental mindset and wants to give a brand a recognizable point of view.
You will turn brand priorities, product stories, creator and customer voices, audience insights, and cultural moments into concise, platform-native copy. You will work across social formats and channels, adapting each idea to how people discover, watch, read, and respond in that environment. You will develop copy that aligns to brand standards, and test variations to learn what resonates without compromising the brand’s personality.
You will partner closely with channel managers, video editors, designers, Creator, Product Marketing, and Growth teams. You will be accountable for the quality, consistency, and performance of social copy and serve as the organization’s go-to expert on social voice.
- Social voice and point of view: Define and evolve a recognizable social voice, including tone, vocabulary, humor, recurring language, and the principles that keep it consistent without making it repetitive.
- Hooks and openings: Write sharp, platform-native hooks that stop the scroll, establish the promise quickly, and give each post a clear reason to keep watching or reading.
- Captions and publishing copy: Own captions, titles, on-screen copy, cover lines, descriptions, calls to action, and supporting copy that strengthen the idea rather than simply summarize it.
- Scripts and concepts: Turn briefs, product stories, creator insights, and cultural observations into tight social scripts, outlines, interview prompts, and repeatable formats.
- Channel adaptation: Adapt ideas across social media platforms so the voice stays recognizable while the execution feels native to each channel.
- Trend and audience language: Track cultural conversations, comment language, memes, formats, and audience behavior; identify language and angles Linktree can credibly use.
- Testing and optimization: Develop hook, caption, and script variants; partner on structured creative tests and use performance data and audience response to improve the next round of copy.
- Editorial operations: Manage a high-volume copy pipeline across calendars, briefs, review cycles, approvals, revisions, and publishing deadlines while maintaining strong copy hygiene.
- Cross-functional partnership: Work closely with channel managers, Community, Creator, Product Marketing, and Growth teams to sharpen briefs, shape ideas, and protect the social point of view.
- 3-5 years writing social copy for a brand, agency, publisher, creator, or your own audience, ideally in a high-volume content environment.
- A portfolio that demonstrates both voice and performance, including hooks, captions, scripts, campaigns, or posts you wrote and an explanation of what worked and why.
- Exceptional command of concise writing, with the ability to create clarity, tension, humor, specificity, and momentum in very little space.
- The range to shift between entertainment, education, product storytelling, creator content, community response, and brand moments without losing a coherent voice.
- Deep fluency in social culture and platform conventions, including how copy functions differently across TikTok, Reels, Shorts, YouTube, and other social formats.
- The speed and editorial judgment to generate strong options, take feedback, revise quickly, and maintain accuracy and consistency across a high-volume pipeline.
- Strong collaboration communication and skills.
- A test-and-learn mindset, with the ability to use audience feedback, performance data, and AI-enabled workflows to sharpen ideas without outsourcing judgment or originality.
