StubHub is on a mission to redefine the live event experience on a global scale. Whether someone is looking to attend their first event or their hundredth, we’re here to delight them all the way from the moment they start looking for a ticket until they step through the gate. The same goes for our sellers. From fans selling a single ticket to the promoters of a worldwide stadium tour, we want StubHub to be the safest, most convenient way to offer a ticket to the millions of fans who browse our platform around the world.

StubHub is seeking a Software Engineer II (React Native) to join our Mobile Foundations team within Consumer App Foundations (CAF).

This team builds and evolves the core React Native platform that powers StubHub’s consumer applications. Rather than focusing on feature delivery, Mobile Foundations engineers invest in shared architecture, cross-platform infrastructure, performance, and developer tooling that enable product teams to move quickly while maintaining exceptional quality.

As a React Native-focused engineer on this team, you will work primarily within our cross-platform stack, while collaborating with native iOS and Android layers when needed. You’ll contribute to reusable systems and platform capabilities that support millions of users globally and ensure our mobile experience remains performant, scalable, and resilient.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving foundational problems, improving developer velocity, and owning systems that other engineers depend on every day.

Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) – New York, NY

About the team:

Consumer App Foundations (CAF) operates horizontally across StubHub to provide shared infrastructure, standards, and platform capabilities that power every consumer product team.

The Mobile Foundations team focuses on:

  • Shared component systems and reusable abstractions
  • Native module integrations that extend React Native capabilities
  • Performance optimization across the React Native and mobile stack
  • Experimentation enablement and feature flag infrastructure
  • Developer tooling, build systems, and CI/CD improvements
  • Establishing guardrails that make quality the default

We operate in a high-autonomy, high-accountability environment with strong talent density and a bottom-up engineering culture.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain shared React Native platform capabilities
  • Develop reusable cross-platform components, hooks, and libraries
  • Build and maintain native modules to extend functionality where needed
  • Improve application performance, including startup time, memory usage, and runtime responsiveness
  • Strengthen React Native architecture, state management patterns, and dependency structures
  • Partner with product teams to ensure platform scalability, usability, and adoption
  • Contribute to experimentation infrastructure and release enablement systems
  • Debug production issues and continuously improve mobile system reliability and developer experience

You will have meaningful autonomy and accountability. Your work will influence engagement, conversion, and revenue across a global marketplace.

What You've Done:
  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong experience building and shipping production applications with React Native
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, component-driven architecture, and state management
  • Experience building shared abstractions, libraries, or platform-level code
  • Experience integrating backend APIs into production applications
  • Familiarity with mobile performance optimization and cross-platform considerations (iOS & Android)
  • Comfortable operating in high-ownership, fast-moving environments
  • Proven ability to independently deliver from implementation through production support
Nice to have:
  • Experience working with native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) code, especially for React Native bridging
  • Experience building internal developer tooling or shared component libraries
  • Experience improving mobile CI/CD pipelines and build systems
  • Experience with feature flagging, experimentation frameworks, or release infrastructure
  • Experience supporting high-scale consumer applications
What We Offer:
  • Accelerated Growth Environment: An environment designed for swift skill and knowledge enhancement, where you have the autonomy to lead experiments and tests on a massive scale.
  • Top Tier Compensation Package: Competitive base, equity, and upside that tracks with your impact.
  • Flexible Time Off: Enjoy unlimited Flex Time Off, giving you the flexibility to manage your schedule and take time to recharge as needed.
