ABOUT THIS ROLE

Position:                ​Software Engineer II

​​​

Location:​141 W. Jackson Blvd., Ste. 500, Chicago IL 60604

Responsibilities:​Work closely with the Architecture team to build backbone services that form the foundation of the Apex platform. Design and implement the next generation of our GCP cloud-native, event-driven (Apache Kafka) microservice architecture. Provide technical thought leadership and deliver high-quality system designs for our high-volume, high-availability trade clearing platform. Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain foundational services and SDKs leveraged by product development teams. Apply best practices and coding standards guided by our Senior Engineers. Build resilient, self-scaling, and self-healing services that ensure reliability and peace of mind. Support the production systems you create, including build, deployment (CI/CD), and monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty). Write clean, well-tested code and uphold high code-quality standards through thorough code reviews.

Educ./experience: ​​Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field, plus two (2) years of post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineer or in a related position in a financial technology company. Experience must include: Distributed systems, microservices, Kubernetes ops, Kafka, gRPC, workflow orchestration, Go, ArgoCD.

Salary range:                $108,077 - $121,000/year
