THE ROLE

We're hiring a Software Engineering Intern to build and ship software and AI-powered experiences that support chronic care delivery between visits. You'll work alongside engineers, product managers, clinicians, and operational partners, taking ownership of a defined project from design and prototyping through production rollout. Your work will sit at the intersection of AI, healthcare data, and distributed systems, helping extend clinical capacity while keeping human judgment and accountability central to care.

The problems we’re solving sit at the intersection of AI, messy healthcare data, and distributed systems. Our impact is measured by patients living healthier, longer lives: our studies show that translates to a 27% drop in hospitalizations.

We’re looking for interns who identify as product-minded builders and care as much about the outcome as the implementation. We are looking for those who thrive in a fast-paced environments, take ownership from inception to launch, and are motivated by solving hard problems that improve patients’ lives.

  • Develop AI-powered features and agents that support care delivery workflows and improve the patient experience
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, clinicians, and operational partners to translate real-world care delivery needs into reliable software
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using established engineering practices and team standards
  • Apply software development best practices to cloud-based systems that support patients and care teams at scale
  • Test, monitor, and iterate on your work using feedback and production signals, with particular attention to reliability and patient impact

EXAMPLES OF PAST INTERN PROJECTS:

  • A scheduling agent that can reschedule a patient appointment within minutes, reducing call wait times
  • A device troubleshooting agent that helps address issues with a patient's remote monitoring device as soon as they occur
  • A transcript analyzer that detects patient wins and automatically shares them with care teams

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field, with an expected graduation date in December 2027 or May/June 2028
  • Prior internship, project, or equivalent hands-on experience in software engineering
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies
  • A product-first mindset - you care about shipping quickly, but also about the real-world impact of your code in improving patient outcomes
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions and work effectively with engineering and cross-functional partners
  • Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and the ability to evaluate where AI accelerates the build versus where human judgment is required

COMPENSATION & PERKS:

  • Autonomy to tackle big, complex problems that matter
  • An opportunity to improve lives every single day
  • A chance to shape a category‑defining company at scale
  • Expected compensation range: $55/hour
