Microsoft is seeking a Solution Sales Leader who will lead a team of Solution Sales Managers and Solution Engineering Managers aligned to the Cloud & AI Platform (CAIP) business.  As a manager-of-managers, you will empower and develop a high-performing sales organization that help customers realize the value of Microsoft Azure, Data & Analytics, Application Innovation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions while developing the next generation of technical sales talent. You will be responsible for providing measurable business value, shape technology strategies, accelerate complex sales opportunities, and drive business growth across Microsoft's most strategic enterprise accounts. This role sits at the forefront of Microsoft's Cloud and AI strategy, bringing together sales leadership, technical acumen, talent developement, executive maturity, and business execution to deliver customer outcomes.  You will foster a high-performance culture that enables the team to achieve meaningful customer outcomes while accelerating professional growth and organizational impact.

This role requires up to 50% domestic travel to support customer engagement, business priorities, and team development activities.

Responsibilities
Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a team of senior solution leaders.
  • Create an inclusive, high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Conduct talent planning, succession planning, and employee development activities.
  • Drive organizational health, employee engagement, and retention.
Drive Customer Technical Decision Excellence
  • Coach teams to deliver and drive transformational customer outcomes
  • Ensure Solution Sales and Engineering Managers effectively influence customer decisions and remove blockers.
  • Support strategic customer opportunities and executive engagements.
  • Foster trusted advisor relationships with customers and partners.
Accelerate Business Performance
  • Partner closely with Digital Solution Specialists, Account Teams, Customer Success, and Partner organizations.
  • Ensure resources are aligned to the highest-priority opportunities.
  • Drive opportunity progression from qualification through commitment.
  • Improve opportunity conversion, workload expansion, and overall business impact.
Execute Solution Sales Strategy
  • Lead inspection and execution of sales activities across the opportunity lifecycle.
  • Ensure milestones are achieved through high-value customer engagements.
  • Drive consistency in pipeline management, senior executive engagement, architecture alignment, and win strategies.
  • Leverage data and business insights to improve execution and forecasting discipline.
Develop Consultative Selling Capability
  • Build deep expertise across Azure, AI, Data & Analytics, Application Platform, and emerging Microsoft technologies.
  • Encourage market industry expertise (ISVs) and continuous readiness.
  • Develop future leaders and first-line managers.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Security, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology-related sales or account management OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States that does not now or in the future require employer sponsorship.
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • 10+ years services sales or account management experience to enterprise customers with complex technical sales cycles.
  • 5+ years people management experience coaching technical professionals in solution sales, pre-sales engineering, consulting, architecture, or cloud technologies.
  • 2+ years manager-of-managers experience.
  • Understanding of Azure, AI, Data & Analytics, Application Innovation, Infrastructure, and Modern Application workloads.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through organizational change and business transformation 
  • Proven success developing talent and building high-performing teams.
  • Experience with strategic business planning and business management.

Solution Area Specialists M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,400 - $243,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,000 - $267,000 per year.
