Overview

 *Candidates must be geographically located in the New York Metro area with a willingness to work on-site in ePlus' 1 Penn Plaza office two days per week.* 

As a Solutions Architect, Presales, you will serve as the dedicated technical lead and sales engineer for targeted ePlus product and service solutions. In partnership with the regional sales team, you will help drive revenue growth and expand opportunities across the customer account portfolio. You will collaborate with master architects, engineers, and consultants to understand clients’ needs, design strategic solutions, and develop sustainable IT roadmaps that help customers achieve their business goals. 

Your Impact

The essential functions of this position include: 

  • Serving as a presales technical resource and trusted advisor to ePlus sales teams and customers across assigned technology focus areas. 
  • Partnering with sales teams to understand customer goals, qualify opportunities, and shape the right hardware, software, and services solutions. 
  • Leading customer-facing presentations, ePlus branded lunch and learns with customers that highlight ePlus’ core competencies, technical capabilities, and recommended solutions.  
  • Capturing customer business and technical requirements during the sales cycle and translating them into practical solution recommendations. 
  • Developing solution architectures, detailed configurations, bills of materials, proposals, and presentations. 
  • Leading technical scoping and solution reviews with customers and internal teams to support Statement of Work development for complex, multi-vendor solutions. 
  • Authoring technical content for RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses. 
  • Serving as a technical liaison with OEM partners, channel teams, solution architect peers, and service delivery teams. 
  • Sharing product updates, lessons learned, and solution insights to strengthen collaboration across the broader pre-sales team. 
  • Supporting customer satisfaction by helping address technical questions, concerns, or issues related to proposed solutions. 
  • Identifying emerging product and service opportunities that could expand ePlus’ solution portfolio. 
  • Completing approved training and maintaining OEM certifications aligned to assigned focus areas. 
  • Recommending improvements to regional processes, reporting, collaboration, and overall pre-sales effectiveness. 
  • Participating in weekly pre-sales engineering calls and reviewing pipeline activity, including revenue potential, win probability, and expected timing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience  
  • 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales engineering or solutions consulting capacity  
  • 5+ years of experience designing and/or implementing complex networking, security, and/or systems/storage solutions  
  • Demonstrated core technology experience across one or more of the following areas: Networking, Security, Data Center, and/or AI 
  • Current certifications from leading OEMs such as Cisco, HPE, Juniper, Dell, VMware, and/or Palo Alto  
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences  
  • High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills 

Position Specifics

The initial base salary range for this position is expected to be between $140,000 and $175,000 annually. The final base salary offered will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, our compensation structure may include other components such as commissions and discretionary bonuses.

 

ePlus offers a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility, employee stock purchase program and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and personal leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an offer of employment is extended.  

 

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
