Job Description

Summary:

The Senior Compensation Analyst is responsible for advanced compensation analysis, market pricing, job architecture support, and compensation program administration, with a primary focus on hourly production roles. This role serves as a compensation resource to HR and business leaders, providing market insights, pay recommendations, and analytical support to ensure competitive, equitable, and compliant pay practices. The Senior Compensation Analyst also manages compensation projects and supports the organization's overall compensation strategy for attracting and retaining critical production talent.


Location: The role will be remote/WFH (with a preference for individuals local to Lake Forest, IL, or Charlotte, NC). 


Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Compensation Analysis & Program Support

  • Lead large scale market pricing evaluations and salary survey participation focusing on hourly production populations.
  • Analyze internal and external data to make recommendations on pay ranges, compensation programs, and internal equity.
  • Play a key role in annual compensation processes (merit, promotions, incentives), including modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Provide advanced compensation guidance to HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition.

Job Architecture & Pay Structure Management

  • Conduct job evaluations for new and existing roles
  • Support salary structure updates and contribute to job architecture enhancements.

Compliance, Governance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation regulations.
  • Continuously improve compensation processes, tools, and documentation.
  • Present compensation findings and trends in a clear, data-driven format.

 

Candidate Requirements:                    

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field (preferred)
  • 3–5 years of progressive compensation or HR analytics experience - specifically in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced Excel functions (including pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling, and reporting automation) with strong proficiency in HRIS and compensation management systems such as Workday, SuccessFactors, and AON/Radford
  • Solid understanding of compensation methodologies, internal equity review, and job evaluation.

Preferred

  • Experience in multi-state compensation or larger-scale organizations.
  • Foundational knowledge of pay equity analysis concepts

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100-110,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
