The data science team at Mysten Labs is looking to hire a Senior Data Scientist. Data science at Mysten includes product analytics, data engineering, partnership measurement, and building out best practices for measuring activity on the high-performance and object-centric Sui Blockchain. This is an exciting opportunity for applicants with experience in traditional web companies to upskill in web3 while bringing their product analytics experiences to a dynamic new product area. Individuals with web3 backgrounds will get to further develop their web3 skills with one of the most performant blockchains and with a team that has deep connections to the space.

The successful candidate will partner with our product, engineering, and partnership teams to conceptualize, measure, and report on product rollouts, chain health, and ecosystem behaviors. This work will focus on building descriptive dashboards and generating one-off analyses for product partners. The ideal applicant has very strong SQL and visualization skills. The product team at Mysten is constantly pushing the boundaries of what web3 can be and the open role requires a candidate who can merge quick iteration with creative ideation.

Data Engineering experience will be valued, including streaming high-volume data, data warehousing, and experience in using Python and Rust for logging.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create dashboards that drive product understanding for our PMs, engineers, and executive leadership team.

  • Run analyses to identify high impact applications for Mysten Lab’s many novel web3 technologies.

  • Collaborate with the data and engineering teams to set new standards for web3 measurement across the industry.

  • Make data processing jobs run reliably in a lightweight scrappy environment.

What You’ll Have:

  • A deep interest in ways to bring web3 technologies to daily life.

  • Strong SQL and visualization skills, with a deep desire to communicate clearly and captivatingly.

  • Strong attention to detail and the desire to work on data analysis as a collaborative discipline between data, engineering, product, and marketing teams.
