This is a demanding role that requires an expert who can balance multiple projects and competing client priorities across a few product lines.  

 

This person will not only have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a deep network of media and influencer relationships, strong account management skills, proven media pitching experience and results, but also will be an inspiring team leader focused on developing talent and empowering those around him/her to succeed.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop lifestyle strategies that drive coverage growth, create distinction and help client break through with key media audiences and younger consumers  

  • Generate buzz and earned coverage for product launches, brand announcements, partnership news and must-win moments  

  • Leverage expertise and background to push client into new creative storytelling territories, including partnerships with external voices including musicians, designers, athletes, creators or emerging platforms 

  • Manage an internal team of junior staff while overseeing all aspects of account work including: trend analysis, message development, pitch creation, event execution, measurement, story ideation, staffing and more 

  • Use research and analytics to strengthen media strategies and client recommendations 

  • Provide oversight and management on account financials including budgets, time sheets, oversight of client billing process, and vendor invoicing 

  • Understand client’s challenges, anticipate their needs and capitalize on new opportunities to solve key issues while unlocking growth for client and UEG 

  • Aid in new business development via participation in pitch meetings, brainstorms, idea generation, staffing discussions and more 

  • Maintain a high-performing, diverse, creative and cross-functional team to provide clients with best-in-class work 

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of talented communications pros while ensuring career development plans and goals 

 

Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in communications with a focus on lifestyle and entertainment 

  • Proven track record managing high performing teams and demanding clients 

  • Strong, relevant relationships with top tier media, tastemakers, influencers – and the ability to leverage for earned results 

  • Strong understanding of consumer trends across lifestyle and entertainment, as well as deep understanding of the evolving media landscape  

  • Fundamental understanding of Integrated Communications tactics 

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills (outreach plans, general proofreading, pitch development, media materials, strategy documents, decks)  

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while being flexible enough to pivot quickly if needed 

  • Strong and consistent problem-solving and analytical skills   

  • Team player with the ability to project confidence, a positive attitude, good judgement and a solutions-oriented approach under pressure  

$80,000 - $120,000 per year

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
