Role Overview:

Could you be our next Sr. Financial Operations Internal Auditor? Globe Life is looking for a Sr. Financial Operations Internal Auditor to join the team!

In this role, you will be responsible for providing assurance and consulting services to Globe Life Inc. and its subsidiaries. Services include evaluating processes and controls, assessing related risks and impact on organizational goals.

This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, Texas (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).

What You Will Do:

  • Lead complex financial and operational audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring compliance with Global internal audit standards while delivering actionable recommendations that drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
  • Support consulting services by providing audit insights and control expertise on management requests, participating in process improvement discussions, and sharing observations from audit work.
  • Support Company’s SOX compliance efforts.
  • Perform special reviews and audits at the request of management.
  • Become a trusted business advisor within the audit profession by developing strong professional relationships within and outside the department.
  • Actively participate in formal and informal training sessions and pursues self-directed learning to stay abreast of emerging audit concepts, industry best practices, auditing / accounting standards, and to improve interpersonal skills.
  • Mentor junior audit staff and other audit team members throughout audit engagements to foster professional growth and development.

What You Can Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or experience in Accounting or other related business field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in Internal Audit or Public Accounting.
  • Knowledge and experience with data analytics, using SQL, Power BI, ACL, IDEA, Workiva, etc. is a plus.
  • Obtained or working towards certifications such as a CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) and/or CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
  • Possesses strong technical skills and an in-depth knowledge of audit techniques and tools used in the audit profession to ensure proper resource allocation of responsibilities and timely budget management.
  • Knowledge of ICFR requirements, SEC reporting, PCAOB standards, COSO framework, procedures, and concepts for aligning with the Global Internal Auditing Standards.
  • Intermediate proficiency in data extraction using SQL and data analysis tools  such as (Power BI, ACL, IDEA, Excel) to support audit testing and evidence gathering.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks using problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, capable of working both independently and in collaborative group settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and audit management software for documentation, analysis, and presentation of audit findings.
  • Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team-oriented, and ability to prioritize assignments and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
