Job Description
 

This role is a pivotal one in the Israel Commercial Operations Department, reporting to the Commercial Operations Director and  working cross-functionally with other Departments and functions within the Gilead Affiliate and within the Regional and global Business Analytics Teams in Gilead.  

 

Scope 

 

Specific Requirements – Business Analytics & Forecasting  

  • Provides reliable and accurate analyses and reports to internal customers to support decision making on key strategies. 

  • Designs and implements repeatable processes of analysis that leverage previous investments in systems or data structures. 

  • Owns data and reporting needs for an area of concentration and runs monthly and quarterly processing to support Commercial teams. 

  • Constructs analytical models that effectively simplify the controls or analysis while maintaining the integrity of the underlying data and analytical structures 

  • Provides ongoing support to field sales and recommends ways to develop methodology to optimize physician or managed care coverage. 
    Assists in the development of sales and marketing initiatives based on analysis of competitive landscape. 

  • Participates in development, implementation, enhancement and problem resolution of analytical reporting systems utilized by Business Analytics and Commercial. 

  • Liaises with local, regional and global Commercial and Commercial Operations teams to facilitate the development of strategic targets and segmentation tactics. 

  • Lead analytics support for Plan of Action (POA) cycles, including targeting, and adoption ladder modeling for HCPs. 

  • Interacts with Regional Business Leads to confirm or clarify assumptions for forecast modeling or explanations for budget variance. 

  • Responsible for developing complex forecasting models and identifying the drivers of variance in monthly forecasts. 

  • Provides scrutiny and determines confidence of demand forecasting for a particular market. 

 

Specific Job Responsibilities – Trade Operations 
 

  • Independence in 4PL management + POC with local 4PL & Gilead Supplier  

  • Handles more complex customer claims 

  • Interfaces with contract manufacturers to address standard documentation and compliance issues. 

  • Exercises judgment within defined and established procedures and practices to determine appropriate action with minimal supervision. 

  • Identifies areas of opportunity to modify processes to favorably impact the Supply Chain function. 

  • Introduces and integrates new technologies and/or new processes, as needed. Supports and develops inventory level tactics to support business goals. 

  • Leads the development of operational functional requirements and business process flow architecture of ERP/SAP functions and features, in support of Gilead’s existing and future business plans. Identifies needs for customer database, reports and management information and adapts accordingly in reporting systems 

  • Supports the execution of supply chain planning initiatives to achieve departmental targets. 

  • Reviews and approves non-routine documents, or documents affecting budgets or timelines, such as work orders, contracts, purchase orders, material transfer requests. 

  • Collaborates directly with QA, Finance and 3PL,  in regard to the Order and supply chain process – end to end accountability of inbound and outbound processes in local systems  (incl documentation and archiving): 

 

Specific Job Responsibilities  Incentive Compensation & others 

  • Oversees benchmarking of sales force compensation levels to ensure competitiveness of compensation programs. 

  • May participate in design meetings with more senior members of the team. 

  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate incentive compensation budget accruals and interacting with FP&A on budget issues.  

  • Partners with the salesforce personnel to ensure use of data and analysis in day-to-day operations 

  • Supports salesforce with systems, reports, dashboards and delivers training aimed at maximizing data transparency and understanding 

  • Facilitates use of Salesforce effectiveness software like Veeva CRM (local BPO), ensuring accuracy, reliability and enhancement rollouts  

  • Collaborates with various Company functions, regional Business Analytics and  IT to analyze operational requirements for reports, document system enhancements and implement system changes. 

  • Participates in the development of written Standard Operating Procedures and documentation of all newly established processes. 

  • Manages projects requiring cross-functional collaboration. 

  • Networks with business analytics, marketing or medical colleagues on a regional level to ensure best practice sharing, knowledge transfers and effective calibration of market dynamics 

  • May get involved in regional projects to expand understanding of key business processes, market specificities or therapy area particularities  

 

 Requirements: 

  • Capable of building analytical models that evaluate business situations and provide recommendations.  

  • Able to successfully manage multiple stakeholders by integrating their diverse functional priorities 

  • Ability to assume full responsibility for accuracy and reliability of complex analyses such as Return on Investment analysis. 

  • Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical members of senior management. 

  • Track record for excellent task management skills such as planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management and plan execution is required. 

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical environment is required, as is a solid understanding of principles relating to the area of specialization 

  • University / Masters Degree / MBA 

  • In-depth knowledge of relevant software systems (e.g., SAP, Tableau, PowerBI etc.) is required. 

  • Advanced Excel skills required., proficient at MS Word & PowerPoint, In-depth knowledge of global Sales and Marketing organizations and pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., IQVIA, National Insurance House, etc.) is required. 

  • English and Hebrew are required; 

  • Must have knowledge of therapeutic area (HIV , product or program of specialization. 

  • Must have experience with the design and implementation of relevant performance metrics and defining target performance levels.
