We are seeking a staff accountant for our finance department to assist with: 

  • Billing/Vouchering for various contracts including Suffolk County Deficit Funding, OPWDD, ACCES-VR.
  • Journal Entries are made monthly to record the accounts receivable on the contracts.
  • Review of health insurance bills is done monthly to insure that the bills correspond with the payroll. Monthly Journal Entry is prepared to allocate as such.
  • Preparation of NYS Gas Tax refund forms on a quarterly basis. Refund is calculated based on gallons and cost of fuel purchased during the quarter.
  • Capture of Food Stamp revenue for the IRA participants and preparation of the corresponding Journal Entry.
  • Review of ISS Grant recipients’ documentation and check requests. Preparation of corresponding backup spreadsheet.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset spreadsheets and reconcile the information to the General Ledger on a quarterly basis
  • Assists with annual budgets and audit and CFR preparation
  • Prepare fringe reporting for the W-2’s and 1099

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                                                   

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years related accounting experience, required.
  • Experience in Not- For- Profit industry.
