Job DescriptionTHE ROLE: Staff Accountant, Sales & Marketing

Support the day-to-day accounting and month-end close activities for the Sales & Marketing business areas for A+E Global Media. This position will assist the Senior Accountant and Manager, Sales & Marketing, with operational accounting processes, accrual tracking, journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and general accounting support related to Sales & Marketing expenses.  This role is heavily involved in the monthly close process and is expected to prepare and process approximately 40–60 journal entries per month, including accruals, reclasses, recurring entries, and other month-end close adjustments. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines during the monthly close cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collect and review monthly accrual submissions from Sales & Marketing budget managers.
  • Prepare and process approximately 40–60 journal entries with accuracy each month, including accruals, reclasses, recurring entries, and close-related adjustments.
  • Validate account coding and review supporting documentation.
  • Assist with recurring entries, reclasses, Concur reporting support, and reconciliations.
  • Meet tight deadlines during the close cycle.
  • Maintain organized support files and documentation within shared drives and OneDrive folders.
  • Support preparation of monthly operating expense and G&A schedules for review by the Senior Accountant and Manager.
  • Assist with variance explanation tracking and supporting documentation collection.
  • Support balance sheet account reconciliations and related documentation preparation.
  • Provide operational accounting support to the team and internal business partners.
  • Assist with SAP-related requests and departmental administrative duties.
  • Utilize Excel, SAP, Concur, and reporting tools to improve process efficiency.
  • Support ad hoc projects and reporting requests.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS; Staff Accountant, Sales & Marketing
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Experience with SAP, Concur, or similar accounting systems preferred.
  • Experience with AI tool (ChatGPT, Shortcut AI, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet close deadlines.
  • Effective communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professionalism, reliability, accountability and willingness to learn.

CompensationAnnual Pay Range: $68,605 - $77,181Annual Incentive Target: 7.50%


 

The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the

minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will

be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills,
