The CFO Organization at Snap includes Accounting, Business Partner Finance, Business Planning & Operations, Finance Operations, Financial Systems, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, Partnerships & Strategy, Tax, and Treasury teams. Together, the team partners with leadership to provide insights, information, and guidance to make strategic and operational decisions, inform investors about our business model and progress, and ensure the company is financially healthy and consistently meeting our reporting obligations.

We’re looking for a Staff Accountant to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Accounting team and various cross functional teams, you will analyze accounting treatment for certain transactions, record and report accounting transactions, and optimize processes for efficient and accurate data flow. You will collaborate with these, and other business partners daily to ensure accurate and timely accounting and US GAAP reporting.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process for areas, as assigned

  • Prepare materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis

  • Prepare various reconciliations and analysis of account activity

  • Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX

  • Provide support for the annual financial statement audit, quarterly reviews, as well as periodic internal audits

  • Improve and document general processes for assigned areas

  • Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects, as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional analytical and Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLookUps, etc.

  • Strong accounting knowledge and an understanding of US GAAP

  • Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and superior attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A proactive person who can multitask, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periods

  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of experience

  • 1+ years of experience as an accounting professional

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA License, or in progress

  • Big 4 firm experience

  • Fortune 500 and/or private company experience

  • Experience working in cloud finance systems (Oracle, etc.)

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $89,000-$133,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $85,000-$126,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $76,000-$113,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
