Job Description: 

Northwinds Services Group is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for their Rochester, NY location. The Staff Accountant will have a broad set of responsibilities, encompassing comprehensive elements of the role: accounting, transaction processing, account reconciliation, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare supporting schedules and record regular journal entries in general ledger systems
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations on a monthly basis across affiliated companies
  • Fixed asset maintenance in sub-ledger and general ledger across affiliated companies
  • Perform monthly expense account analysis to ensure accurate cost reporting
  • Review transactional details and postings for accuracy and reasonableness
  • Review job costing to ensure accurate recording of revenues and expenses
  • Various additional accounting and financial reporting tasks
  • Serve as backup to other Accounting Department team members
  • Special projects as assigned

  

Job Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting or 2+ years prior accounting experience
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office suite of products. Prior experience working with business software programs a plus, including Sage Intaact, ServiceTitan, and Quickbooks.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining superior quality and accuracy
  • Aptitude for detailed work, data analysis, problem solving and follow-up

The starting yearly base salary range for this position is $68,000 to $70,000. This is the range of the base pay only, it does not include other components that make up the total compensation package of the position. If offered a position, your total compensation package will be determined by experience, location, skills, and/or education which may result in a total compensation package that falls outside of the provided range.
