Staff Assistant, College of Nursing

The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Staff Assistant. The successful candidate will:

• Request classroom space from faculty.
• Create Typhon rosters for the undergraduate program.
• Receive matriculated student lists for undergraduate cohorts.
• Create individual email login credentials for undergraduate students to access Typhon.
• Send initial SLAP invitation emails to undergraduate cohorts through Typhon.
• Collect student files through designated email.
• Enter document expiration dates into individual student Typhon accounts.
• Relay clinical document clearance information to students.
• Maintain electronic student files accessible to staff.
• Run weekly expiration reports through Typhon and notify students of missing or expired documents affecting clinical clearance.
• Schedule and assist with Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing candidate interviews.
• Receive interview lists and schedules from the Program Director.
• Contact applicants by email or phone to schedule interview times.
• Create Zoom links for interviews.
• Send Zoom links to applicants and the Program Director.
• Relay applicant interview or admission declinations to the Program Director.
• Take meeting minutes and/or record Admissions and ELP committee meetings in Teams.
• Distribute minutes to committee members for review.
• Create Teams meeting links.
• Send committee meeting invitations to committee members.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in an administrative capacity preferably in an academic and/or healthcare setting.
• Excellent computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
• Or, a satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
