Base Compensation Range: $103,500 - $129,500/yr
*In addition, you qualify for:

  • Annual bonus opportunity of 15% based on company performance

      Job Summary

      The Staff Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial reporting process and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. Lead the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, manage the external audit process, and support strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis. 

      Duties/Responsibilities

      • Financial Reporting: 
        • Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). 
        • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to internal and external stakeholders. 

      • Regulatory Compliance: 
        • Maintain knowledge of current accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance. 
        • Coordinate and manage the completion of all regulatory filings, including SEC reports (10-Q, 10-K) and other statutory reports. 

      • Audit Management: 
        • Lead the external audit process, acting as the primary liaison with auditors and ensuring all audit requests are fulfilled timely. 
        • Address audit findings and implement recommendations to strengthen internal controls and improve reporting processes. 

      • Process Improvement: 
        • Identify opportunities for process enhancements in financial reporting, streamlining workflows, and automating reporting processes. 
        • Develop and implement best practices for financial reporting to increase accuracy and efficiency. 

      • Team Leadership: 
        • Manage and mentor a team of financial reporting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. 
        • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members. 

      • Financial Analysis: 
        • Provide insightful analysis and commentary on financial results, trends, and variances to support strategic decision-making by senior management. 
        • Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant data and insights for financial reporting. 

      • Cross-Functional Collaboration: 
        • Work closely with accounting, tax, treasury, and FP&A teams to ensure alignment and consistency in financial reporting. 
        • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed. 

      • Additional Responsibilities
        • Prepare Form 10-Qs and Form 10-Ks, including face financial statements and footnotes in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
        • Assist in the preparation of Form 8-Ks, Proxy Statements, and other SEC filings as requested.
        • Perform close activities, including preparing recurring and non-recurring journal entries related to corporate or technical accounting functions (e.g., non-domestic statutory accounting to U.S. GAAP adjustments, lease modifications, etc.)
        • Support technical accounting projects such as equity award valuation, lease modifications, quantitative goodwill impairment testing, and adoption of new accounting pronouncements.
        • Participate in or lead special projects as assigned, including projects internal to the accounting group or that require cross-functional cooperation.
        • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency.

      Experience/Education

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
      • Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing. 

      Knowledge and Skillsets Required

      • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and relevant regulatory requirements. 
      • Proficiency in financial reporting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). 
      • Advanced skills in Excel and financial analysis tools. 
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. 
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting complex financial information clearly to stakeholders. 
      • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering collaboration and high performance. 

      Physical Demands:

      • Sitting: Often for extended periods at desks or meetings. 
      • Standing or walking: Occasionally for meetings or office tasks. 
      • Using computers: Typing and using office equipment. 
      • Lifting: Light, less than 10 pounds. 
      • Repetitive motions: Frequent use of keyboard and mouse. 

      Environmental Conditions:

      • Workspace: Climate control (air conditioning or heating) to ensure comfort. 
      • Lighting: Adjustable lighting to reduce eye strain. 
      • Noise Levels: The noise level is moderate, with occasional interruptions from phone calls and conversations. Use non-canceling headphones if necessary. 
      • Ergonomics: Workstations with desk and adjustable chairs to support good postures. 
      • Ventilation: Good ventilation to ensure a comfortable working environment, though this can vary depending on the building.
