About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Full Stack Engineer to help lead the development of a rapidly growing fintech platform transforming the debt collection industry. In this highly impactful role, you will partner directly with executive leadership, including the CEO and Head of Engineering, to architect, build, and scale critical platform capabilities.
As a senior technical leader, you will own major initiatives from concept through production, driving architecture decisions, improving engineering practices, and mentoring teammates. While the role is backend-focused, you will contribute across the entire technology stack and play a key role in shaping the future of the platform.

What You'll Do
· Lead the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical platform features and services.
· Own major engineering initiatives from technical planning through implementation and production support.
· Build and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations with payment and third-party systems.
· Develop customer-facing applications and internal operational tools using modern frontend technologies.
· Drive architectural decisions that improve platform scalability, reliability, and performance.
· Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure running on AWS.
· Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and overall software development lifecycle practices.
· Mentor engineers and establish best practices for code quality, testing, and system design.
· Collaborate closely with product, operations, and executive leadership to define and deliver strategic initiatives.
· Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system reliability and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications
Technical Experience
· 8+ years of experience building and maintaining production web applications.
· 5+ years of professional experience with Python.
· 5+ years of experience with Django (Django REST Framework preferred).
· Strong experience with React and Redux.
· Deep understanding of SQL and relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
· Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs.
· Experience integrating with third-party services and payment infrastructure.
Infrastructure & DevOps
· Hands-on experience operating production systems on AWS.
· Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
· Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools.
· Familiarity with technologies such as Celery, GitHub Actions, and Terraform is a plus.
· Proven ability to improve system performance, scalability, and reliability in production environments.
Leadership & Collaboration
· Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives and influencing engineering strategy.
· Strong ownership mentality with the ability to take projects from idea to production.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Experience mentoring engineers and elevating team performance.
· Comfortable working across the full technology stack while maintaining deep expertise in at least one domain.
