Who We Are

Maybern is transforming the way private fund managers effectively manage their funds through cutting edge technology. Maybern is founded by top engineering experts with deep knowledge of the fund management space.

Private funds manage $15T in capital and are growing at 20% YoY, but with increasing regulatory scrutiny and investor demands for transparency, the need for world class software to help private fund CFOs is crucial.

This is where Maybern comes in.

We are equipping fund managers with intuitive, flexible fund management software, enabling private investment managers to focus on what they do best: driving returns for their investors. We are backed by leading venture capital firms and a large number of strategic investors.

Maybern is an NYC based company with a strong in-office culture to drive collaboration, and we are looking to make strong additions to our team.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial and creative Staff Product Designer with 5+ years of experience designing elegant solutions to complex user problems to own design for our Core Workflows and User Engagement squads.

What You'll Do

  • Create design solutions: Embed into the Core Workflows and User Engagement squads, partnering closely with Product and Engineering to break down ambiguous product problems and create design solutions that are delightful for users, feasible to build, and deliver on our business goals. As part of the Engagement squad, you’ll own designing 0-to-1 user-facing features that span our entire application, like data visualizations, task management, notifications, and commenting.

  • Build a UX vision: Work with another designer on the team to define a modern design vision for our product, articulating where our visual language and interaction patterns should evolve over time—and why it matters for users and the business. Partner with Engineering and Product to find ways we can incrementally build towards that vision.

  • Lead discovery & research: Develop a deep understanding of our users' experience in a highly technical domain to identify user needs. Test ideas and refine designs based on direct user feedback and observed user behaviors.

  • Establish design standards: Evolve and expand our design system thoughtfully, introducing new patterns and components that raise the bar while respecting existing constraints and technical realities.

Who You Are

  • Strategic. You build compelling business cases for design investments, connecting aesthetic and UX improvements to outcomes like retention, conversion, and customer satisfaction.

  • Collaborative. You see engineering as a true partner, not a blocker, and you build trust by understanding technical complexity and proposing solutions that respect it.

  • Curious and Creative. You are a deep listener who seeks different points of views, asks the right clarifying questions to understand the problem at hand, and thinks creatively to find the best design solutions. You’re not afraid to go deep to understand user problems in a technical domain.

  • Forward-thinking: You hold a high bar for craft and have a point of view on what "great" looks like—and you're skilled at finding the pragmatic path to get there incrementally.

This Could Be a Great Fit If You...

  • Have 4+ years of design experience, ideally working on a complex B2B Product, and a proven ability of leading design projects from beginning to end.

  • Have a portfolio that reflects your strengths in both user experience and aesthetic design, as well as in the implementation of user testing and research throughout the design process.

  • Are proficient in Figma and experienced in prototyping and interaction design.

  • You’re able to plan for the long term while navigating short-term tradeoffs.

  • Collaborate well across teams; You can distill and incorporate feedback and communicate clearly. You can simplify complex concepts, articulate, and explain your thoughts effectively, and ask the right questions to gain deeper insights.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, often wearing multiple hats. You’re comfortable when the lines between Product and Design blur.

  • You're eager to contribute to our design foundations and work to foster a culture of design thinking throughout the business.

Benefits
  • We offer a competitive salary + equity package, comprehensive benefits, and a flexible family-friendly work environment. Some of our perks include:

    • Comprehensive healthcare benefits

      • Maybern covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums

      • HSA & FSA plans

    • Family-Friendly policies

      • Paid parental leave

    • Flexible schedule

      • Flexible PTO / sick leave
