Your New Role...
Passionate about cutting edge technologies and working at a global scale? Eager to work with teams responsible for shipping features that have a huge customer reach and can impact millions of users? We are looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager to join our Warner Bros. Discovery Commerce team. You will help drive development, deliver purchase capabilities, and partner with Product Management to delight our customers. You will partner with Commerce Engineering in breaking down complex projects into specific goals and tasks, while ensuring the long-term vision is delivered. You are action oriented and prioritize delivering roadmap items, proactively identify gaps, as well as opportunities in engineering and operations excellence.
The Commerce teams own global, direct purchase capabilities and service integrations with the world's largest In App Purchase (IAP) partners including but not limited to Apple and Google. These integrations include highly scalable real-time activities as well as out of app purchases and push notification updates. These systems are critical for the signup and retention user experiences, and during high volume releases of hits like House of the Dragon and Euphoria or Live Sports events. The Commerce teams also own publishing business critical data to financial integrations and business intelligence systems. This data gets used daily by executive consumers, empowers data science and machine learning projects, and is used for monthly/quarterly/yearly financial reconciliation. This work provides high visibility opportunities to work across functions, with leadership, and with external partners.
Your Role Accountability...

  • Understand the flow of Commerce data into business intelligence and financial systems
  • Organize and drive requirements and features that deliver reliable payment and recurring billing experiences
  • You are able to triage multiple initiatives to make a judgment to tackle the right problems at the right time.
  • You are passionate about leading by influence. You have a demonstrated ability to establish a vision and to execute on it.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear articulation of business impact and technical constraints tailored to the audience.
  • Create and drive team direction and strategy at all phases of engineering and project management
  • Document, articulate and maintain your program's technical and business requirements
  • Guide and organize development teams to deliver platform capabilities that are in line with roadmap and program / organizational goals / KPIs
  • Work with development teams to tease out implementation details and identify roadblocks before they occur.
  • Communicate how product-level goals fit into, and are influenced by, larger divisional goals, and how the team's work impacts the success or failure of the division.
  • Discover and articulate technical requirements and dependencies on external development teams and third-party partners.
  • Create problem statements and move from those to appropriate and data driven proposals, recommendations, and solutions; then drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • 7+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager working across multiple technical projects.
  • Payments, e-commerce, IAP experience - you've worked directly with payment processors/IAP partners and have experience working on direct credit/debit card payments
  • Financial reconciliation and data/analytics experience - you're a data person who can understand and document how data created in Production systems makes its way downstream into business intelligence and financial systems.
  • Ability to function effectively and consistently when faced with frequently changing and sometimes ambiguous goals.
  • Ability to drive definition of project scope, develop detailed project plans and facilitate the collection of engineering, operational and business requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation and problem resolution in a cross-functional team.
  • Strong understanding and experience with development methodologies, including waterfall and agile.
  • Ability to learn new development tools and productivity tools in order to continuously improve effectiveness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate complex technical solutions and features into intuitive business concepts.
  • Strong business acumen that balances strategic initiatives and engineering needs.
