Microsoft is seeking an experienced Strategic Account Executive to lead one of its most strategic global financial services relationships in the world. This role is responsible for driving executive-level engagement, business transformation, and long-term growth across Microsoft's cloud, AI, security, data, and productivity portfolio.

The Strategic Account Executive serves as the senior orchestrator of a large, cross-functional Microsoft team, aligning specialists, engineers, customer success resources, partners, and executives to help one of the largest financial services institutions achieve its business and technology objectives. The successful candidate will build trusted relationships with C-suite and senior technology leaders, develop account strategies that accelerate customer outcomes, and create measurable business impact through adoption of Microsoft technologies and services.

This role requires a unique combination of executive presence, strategic thinking, financial services expertise, commercial acumen, and operational rigor. The candidate must be able to navigate a complex global enterprise environment, influence across multiple stakeholder groups, and lead large-scale transformational initiatives involving AI, cloud modernization, security, workplace transformation, data platforms, and application innovation.

The Strategic Account Executive will own accountability for customer satisfaction, consumption growth, revenue performance, strategic opportunity development, executive governance, and long-term account planning. The individual will work closely with Microsoft senior leadership and customer executives to identify new opportunities, mitigate risks, accelerate business outcomes, and strengthen Microsoft's position as a trusted strategic partner.

Success in this role requires the ability to lead through influence, inspire high-performing virtual teams, communicate effectively at executive levels, and translate complex business and technology challenges into actionable strategies that deliver value for both our client and Microsoft. The ideal candidate has a proven history of leading large, global enterprise relationships, managing significant business portfolios, and driving transformational outcomes within highly regulated industries.


Responsibilities
  • Own the overall executive relationship and strategic partnership with one of the largest global financial services firms.
  • Develop and execute multi-year account strategies aligned to customer business priorities.
  • Drive growth across Microsoft Cloud, AI, Security, Modern Work, Data, Business Applications, and Developer platforms.
  • Lead executive business reviews, governance programs, and strategic planning motions.
  • Orchestrate a large virtual account team across sales, engineering, customer success, support, services, and partner organizations.
  • Identify, qualify, and close complex transformational opportunities.
  • Maintain forecast accuracy and deliver against revenue, consumption, and customer success objectives.
  • Build trusted relationships with business, technology, operations, security, and innovation leaders.
  • Represent customer priorities internally and advocate for investments that accelerate customer success.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and operational excellence across the account team.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR Master's Degree AND 9+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR 13+ years experience in working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience making recommendations to and/or collaborating with mid-to-senior level executives.
  • 8+ years experience closing large, complex agreements/deals.
 Other Requirements

 Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 13+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR Master's Degree AND 11+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR equivalent experience.
  • Proven enterprise technology sales experience supporting large strategic accounts in the financial services industry.
  • Track record of measurable business impact, including revenue growth, account expansion, or other quantifiable sales achievements.
  • Cross-functional leadership skills with experience coordinating specialists, customer success resources, and other stakeholders in support of a major customer relationship.

Strategic Account Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year.
