Job Description:

Strategic Account Manager

About Packsize

Packsize is an automation company that enables more efficient and sustainable packaging process flows from packing to unboxing. We’re propelling our customers and the industry forward, always looking to innovate and improve. Because, to us, packaging is about much more than a box, it’s about delivering what’s right, for our customers, for their customers and our planet.

About the Role

The Strategic Account Manager owns the commercial health, retention, and expansion of Packsize’s most strategic customer relationships. This role sits squarely within the Customer Growth & Success Department and is focused on turning realized customer value into durable, predictable revenue.

SAMs are assigned to a small number of Strategic accounts where multi‑site, multi‑year expansion potential exists and where executive‑level relationship management is required. The role is deliberately commercial and strategic—distinct from Customer Success and Implementation, which own delivery, adoption, and operational outcomes.

The SAM is accountable for renewals, pricing, expansion strategy, and long‑term account planning, working alongside with Customer Success to ensure Packsize retains, grows, and de‑risks its most important customers.

What You’ll Own

Commercial Ownership

  • Own contract renewals, pricing, and commercial negotiations for assigned Strategic accounts

  • Drive expansion, upsell, and multi‑site growth opportunities

  • Manage commercial risk and prevent revenue leakage

  • Forecast renewals and expansion with high accuracy

Strategic Account Leadership

  • Develop and execute multi‑year account plans and growth roadmaps

  • Build deep, multi‑threaded relationships with senior customer executives

  • Act as the executive point of contact for Packsize on assigned accounts

  • Align Packsize leadership to customer strategy and risk

Cross‑Functional Orchestration

  • Partner closely with Customer Success to convert outcomes into expansion and renewal narratives

  • Coordinate with Sales on new site opportunities and cross‑sell motions

  • Leverage Implementation, Service Operations, and CS Ops as needed—without owning delivery

Growth & Retention Outcomes

  • Increase Net Revenue Retention (NRR) and Gross Profit across assigned accounts

  • Ensure renewals are proactive, predictable, and surprise‑free

  • Translate customer value into long‑term commercial growth

Success Looks Like

  • Renewals are forecasted early and closed

  • Expansion is driven by clear value narratives and executive alignment

  • Strategic accounts grow predictably over multiple years

  • Customer relationships are durable, multi‑threaded, and executive‑level

Qualifications

Required

  • 6+ years in Account Management, Strategic Sales, or Program/Commercial leadership roles

  • Experience managing large, complex, enterprise or global customers

  • Proven track record owning renewals, pricing, and commercial negotiations

  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence C‑level stakeholders

  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, cross‑functional environment

Preferred

  • Experience managing multi‑site or multi‑region accounts

  • Background in industrial automation, capital equipment, SaaS, or operationally embedded solutions

  • Experience working with Fortune 500 / Global accounts

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to travel up to 60%

  • Ability to work from a home office

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record

What We Offer

The Base Salary for this role is $140,000 to 160,000/year USD + Bonus however, Packsize considers several factors when determining compensation when extending a job offer, including but not limited to, the role being offered, the associated responsibilities, the candidate's prior work experience, education/training, and any special skills.
