About Us

Metal is building the world’s most powerful intelligence platform for private market investors. We support deal teams throughout the diligence lifecycle - from market research and sourcing to evaluation and close. Top-tier funds like Berkshire Partners and Clearlake Capital already rely on Metal to move faster and make smarter investment decisions - and we’re just getting started.

If you're excited to transform how private investors work, collaborate, and make decisions, we’d love to meet you.

The Role

Metal is redefining how private markets operate, but achieving lasting impact requires our platform to be deeply embedded in firms’ investment workflows and decision-making. The Strategic Product Specialist is central to this effort—shaping how AI is applied across private markets and how Metal evolves with its customers.

This is a first-of-its-kind role that combines deep private markets expertise with customer empathy and a strong curiosity for how AI can transform investment firms. You will sit at the intersection of top-tier investment teams and their AI evolution, helping firms rethink how they source opportunities, conduct diligence, and make decisions.

In this role, you will work directly with Metal’s founding team and strategic customers to drive adoption and ROI, translating first-hand insight into product and go-to-market direction.

This is a mission-critical position focused on value realization and product evolution, serving as the voice of the customer across Product and Sales as Metal helps define how private market investors operate in an AI-driven world.

What You’ll Do
  • Define how AI is used in private markets. Identify and expand high-impact use cases across sourcing, diligence, and decision-making processes, and turn what works into best practices and deployment frameworks for how investment teams adopt Metal.

  • Shape product and go-to-market strategy from the field. Translate first-hand customer insight into clear product direction, influencing Metal’s roadmap, positioning, and sales motion.

  • Drive use-case expansion and growth. Uncover new workflows, teams, and applications within customer organizations, partnering with Sales to execute expansions and deepen Metal’s footprint.

  • Build a scalable deployment model. Turn successful implementations into repeatable onboarding, enablement, and rollout frameworks that scale across customers.

  • Own value realization for strategic customers. Ensure Metal is embedded in core investment workflows, delivering measurable adoption and ROI.

  • Act as a trusted advisor. Partner with deal, operations, and data teams to evolve workflows over time and support long-term adoption.

  • Develop champions and advocacy. Build durable relationships, enable internal champions, and convert successful deployments into references and market credibility.

Who You’ll Work With
  • Metal’s Founding Team. including Metal’s CEO, CPO, and CTO — to shape how investment professionals engage with Metal’s platform.

  • Cross-functional leaders across Strategy, Sales, Product, and Engineering — aligning client outcomes with product direction.

  • C-suite executives, deal partners, and operating leaders at top private equity and private capital firms — helping them translate investment expertise into technology-driven advantage.

What We’re Looking For
  • 3-5 years in private equity, growth equity, or management consulting, with direct experience in deal execution and diligence.

  • Strong understanding of the investment lifecycle, from sourcing to exit, and the data and process challenges firms face.

  • Exceptional executive presence and relationship-building skills; able to engage persuasively with partners, principals, and C-level stakeholders.

  • A deep curiosity about AI and automation in private markets, and excitement about building a new category of investment infrastructure.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset — you thrive in ambiguity, take initiative, and are motivated to build the blueprint others will follow.

Benefits & Compensation

We’re a startup that believes in hiring great people and rewarding them accordingly. For this role, you can expect:

  • Salary Range (OTE): $130,000 to $230,000USD, depending on experience.

  • Equity: Meaningful early-stage ownership in Metal.

  • Health Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
