Our Corporate Development team is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships that accelerate DV's growth and competitive positioning. This summer, we're offering one exceptional student a front-row seat to how world-class M&A gets done.

As a Corporate Development & M&A Intern, you will work directly alongside our small deal team to support active research, analysis, and strategic projects. This is a real working role — not a shadowing experience. You will contribute to live workstreams, develop professional skills in financial analysis and industry research, and present findings to senior team members.

What You'll Do
  • Market Mapping: Research and build a landscape of potential acquisition targets and strategic partners across adtech, martech, data infrastructure, and AI-driven advertising verticals
  • Competitive Intelligence: Analyze public filings, earnings transcripts, and press releases to track the strategic moves of key competitors including The Trade Desk, Integral Ad Science, and Nielsen
  • Financial Research: Assist in compiling revenue, growth, and profitability benchmarks for target companies using tools like PitchBook, Crunchbase, and public filings
  • Deal Screening: Support the team in building target screening scorecards that evaluate strategic fit, product overlap, and financial metrics
  • Presentation Support: Help prepare internal memos, slide decks, and briefing materials for corporate development team reviews
  • Industry Deep Dives: Produce a research brief on an emerging segment (e.g., AI-generated content verification, retail media measurement, or agentic advertising) and present it to the corporate development team at the end of the internship
What You'll Learn
  • How public and private companies are valued (revenue multiples, EBITDA, comparable company analysis)
  • How a corporate development team thinks about build vs. buy vs. partner decisions
  • How adtech and martech ecosystems are structured, who the key players are, and where the market is heading
Who You Are

You don't need prior finance experience — but you do need to be curious, driven, and comfortable with ambiguity. Strong candidates will have:

  • Strong academic record with interest in business, economics, finance, or technology
  • Comfort working with data and spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Genuine curiosity about how companies grow through strategy and acquisitions
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently on research projects
