Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.

The Strategy & BizOps team drives and executes against the company’s go-to-market strategy. We leverage quantitative and qualitative analysis to create long-term business strategies and help execute on Waymo’s commercial deployment. The team is analytically driven, with a proactive mentality, focused on finding and delivering on high impact projects.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Director, Strategy and BizOps.

You will:

  •  Drive go-to-market / commercial strategy projects with broad scope and significant company impact
  •  Conduct rigorous qualitative or quantitative analysis and effectively distilling insights (“so what”) from them
  •  Engage in cross-functional stakeholder management, aligning various perspectives and inputs from technical and commercial functions
  •  Advance business modeling and analysis such as value driver and scenario analysis responsibilities
  •  Distill insights and recommendations for leadership

You have:

  •  Structured problem solving - know how to solve ambiguous problems, up-level and not get lost in details
  •  Analytical skillset - comfortable with various modes of quantitative analysis (e.g. financial modeling, data analytics, SQL), and capable of presenting up-leveled insights for executive audiences
    •  Must-haves are financial analysis and modeling
  •  Strong relationship building and communication skills
  •  Comfort in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving “startup” work environment
  •  Background: familiar with project based work, frequent shift of focus and topics, learning new content quickly (typical for consulting or bizops / chief of staff functions in tech companies)
  •  Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  •  At least 5 years experience

We prefer:

  • Operational experience in a tech company (e.g., Chief of Staff, BizOps & Strategy, etc.)
  • Consulting or finance background (if consulting, with some financial modeling experience) AND experience in a tech company, especially with products that have a physical component (e.g., transportation, supply chain, proptech)
  • Experience in relevant industries (e.g., Ride Hailing, Trucking, Delivery)
  • Experience with commercialization / go-to-market strategy (e.g., pricing, partner strategy)
