Who We Are

Spot & Tango is an innovative pet health & wellness brand that delivers personalized meal plans on a subscription basis. Our recipes are developed by leading animal nutritionists and are made with only real, human-grade ingredients... and nothing artificial! We have lofty goals (to make every dog in the country healthier, and every pet parent happier!) and we are looking for the right people to help us get there. This is an exciting opportunity to join a VC-backed, high-growth e-commerce startup and have an outsized impact in an extremely fast-paced environment. Plus, you get to think about dogs all day!

The Role

The Strategy Manager, reporting to the Associate Director, Strategy & Innovation, will be a key member of the Strategy team.  You’ll work closely with senior leadership and the broader strategy team to identify and evaluate potential growth opportunities. Every day will be different, and could include building out a business case for a new product line or deep-diving into a country’s import regulations. As projects move to execution, you’ll work cross-functionally to align on deliverables and ensure we stay on track.
Who You Are

You’re analytical, business-minded, and naturally curious — always eager to dig into data, trends, and customer feedback to uncover new opportunities for expansion. You’re equally comfortable building a model to size a new market as you are brainstorming creative ideas for new product lines. You’re structured in your thinking but flexible in your approach — able to bring clarity to ambiguous problems and momentum to undefined opportunities. The ideal candidate has a bias toward action, thrives in environments where priorities can shift quickly, and takes pride in turning loose ideas into concrete, measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the research roadmap and proactively identify high-growth opportunities (e.g., new product lines, new geographies, channel expansion)
  • Analyze competitive dynamics, customer behavior, and macro trends to evaluate viability
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to size market potential, forecast demand, and estimate ROI
  • Synthesize qualitative insights and quantitative data into clear, structured business cases
  • Develop decision-making frameworks and  strategic recommendations grounded in data, strategic fit, and resourcing needs to guide go/no-go decisions
  • Present findings to senior leadership in clear, compelling formats
  • Build detailed cross-functional execution plans, including timelines, owners, and risks
  • Track progress again plans, flag risks early, and facilitate cross-functional alignment and problem-solving
  • Monitor pricing, product launches, marketing campaigns, promotions, and distribution changes across key competitors
  • Create premium dog food purchaser segmentation to enable better customer targeting
  • Provide analytical rigor, strategic thought partnership, and project management for ad hoc cross-functional projects (e.g., evaluating how ancillary products are displayed in the funnel)

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience at a top-tier management/strategy consulting firm; experience with membership or subscription businesses is a plus. Experience working in the consumer goods, food, or retail industry is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, economics, data science, or a related field preferred.
  • Expertise in managing multiple initiatives independently, prioritizing effectively, and driving projects from concept to execution.
  • Proven ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics (e.g., import regulations)
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies, such as regression analysis, segmentation, and predictive modeling.
  • Exceptional work ethic and ability to independently create and drive workstreams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven startup environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and  PowerPoint; familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SPSS, or similar tools) and/or BI tools (e.g., Looker, Omni, or similar) a plus
  • Comfortable working and communicating with employees at all levels of the organization, including the CEO, COO, and other senior leaders.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and able to react quickly to changing priorities.
  • Dog lover!
