The Opportunity
MetLife is seeking a current 1L law student to participate in its Law Clerk Program. The Law Clerk will work with teams based out of MetLife's New York City office. We anticipate that the Law Clerk Program will follow MetLife's hybrid office model for 2026, although that may change depending on location and circumstances at that time. The program will run for ten weeks, starting in late May 2026. The law clerk is expected to work approximately 35- 40 hours per week and will be compensated at a rate of $32.50 per hour.

The law clerk will support attorneys in the New York office that focus on a diverse array of legal issues and practice areas including: Insurance, Claims, Commercial, Securities, Marketing and General Corporate Litigation; Employment Law; Group Insurance Law; ERISA Products/Tax; Privacy, Intellectual Property and Technology; Public Company and Corporate Law; Corporate Real Estate and Procurement Operations. The law clerk will perform legal research and writing assignments in support of various law department practice areas and will gain exposure to the responsibilities of in-house counsel.
