Job Responsibilities:
Your contributions to the team:
  • Determine and manage appropriate manpower requirements in conjunction with the Production Supervisors.
  • Ensures Production Supervisors are adhering to standardized work instructions, rotation schedules, and cross training is done as necessary.
  • Tracks and reports daily production and drives improvements where necessary.
  • Administers and ensures compliance with the Quality and Material Management System requirements as outlined in the policy manuals.
  • Performs minor maintenance functions, when necessary.
  • Participates and leads process improvement projects: productivity, quality, ergonomics, etc.
  • Collaborates with Department Managers and the Human Resources Manager in the administration of disciplinary action, when necessary.
  • Ensures the thoroughness and timely completion of scheduled performance reviews for shift employees.
  • Ensures Production Supervisors are monitoring, maintaining and accurately recording employees' time related to the Attendance and Time-Off Policies (e.g. vacation, medical day, jury duty, etc) within established time frames; and all required supporting documentation is obtained timely.
  • Supports and enforces the principles of the Employee Charter, Company goals and objectives, and decisions and policies by taking ownership and communicating these in a positive and supportive manner.

Who we are looking for
Education/Certification/Licensure:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor or Associate degree in related field preferred

Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of production supervisory experience in an automotive manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Formal training on problem solving methodologies preferred (i.e., 5-why analysis, 8-D, etc.).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team oriented, communicates well with others, and able to interact with people at all levels and departments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and various manufacturing/business information software.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, including participation in kaizen events.
