Profile Summary:

Voya is looking to identify a Head of Marketing who will drive the firm’s strategic expansion and marketing efforts forward. The successful candidate will be critical to designing and implementing the firm’s marketing strategy for the institutional and intermediary channels. This candidate will drive the firm’s strategic initiatives in the key areas of channel marketing, thought leadership, product marketing and digital. He/she will work with senior leaders to develop the marketing distinction of Voya.

Based in New York, the successful candidate will possess creativity, a high energy level, a strong sense of leading teams with a constant eye for growth. This candidate will understand institutional and retail markets and possess a deep knowledge of all major asset classes (especially fixed income), strategies and vehicle structures and the respective marketing nuances of each.

The Head of Marketing must have a demonstrated track record of impactful leadership; driving change and motivating others to “make things happen” as appropriate. 

Profile Description:

The successful candidate must be able to translate strategic plans into specific short and long-term business objectives, define metrics and accountabilities, cultivate productive relationships, and lead cross-functional teams effectively. He/she will lead, develop, retain/hire an outstanding team of professionals who are proactive, value-added, and perform at the highest caliber.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving growth via comprehensive and data driven marketing campaigns, materials, thought leadership content, social media, and events. He/she will be responsible for building and enhancing the firm’s reputation by creating positive exposure for Voya’s products, services, employees and commitment to the firm’s community.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing the US marketing organization and developing and executing a strategic marketing plan.

  • Leading the marketing team to develop, prioritize, and deliver superior quality output in client communications and events.

  • Driving innovation in all aspects of marketing strategy (written communication, digital and social media, client/business development events, public relations, etc.).

  • Using appropriate metrics and tools to assess client needs and the firm’s effectiveness in delivering against them; staying current on trends in the industry and competitors’ strategies and messaging. 

  • Acquiring and analyzing market data to understand end user engagement and behavior. Recommending new approaches and ways to advance internal stakeholder and client relationships, in addition to sales growth.

  • Developing and mentoring exemplary internal existing talent within the marketing organization.

Knowledge & Experience:

The ideal candidate will ideally have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Possess a minimum of 10 years of strategic marketing experience in roles of increasing responsibility and leadership.

  • Extensive experience in asset management and/or financial services.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in marketing within the investment industry.

  • Ability to collaborate, build strong relationships, and influence others at all levels of the organization.

  • Previous experience leading and managing a team.

  • Extensive experience analyzing investment markets as well as proposing and implementing strategies through market research and sales.

  • A thoughtful, strategic style combined with results-oriented execution skills.

  • A track record of successful innovation and thought leadership.

  • Superior written, presentation, and interpersonal skills; consultative and strategic presenter.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills and a strong work ethic with a drive to succeed.

  • Successful achievement of results in a complex, team-based environment.

  • Candidates should be inquisitive, persuasive, self-confident, and decisive.

  • In addition to demonstrated professional achievement, strong academic credentials are preferred. (Bachelor’s degree required, post-graduate preferred).

  • Integrity, initiative, thoroughness, resourcefulness, and ability to deliver results are key attributes.

  • Capable of prioritizing multiple strategies and projects in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

  • A personal presence and presentation that will command the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
