As a Systems Administrator, you will support hardware and software for end-users, maintain server infrastructure, and manage virtual/cloud environments while ensuring security compliance.
As a Systems Administrator at Kitware, you will play a vital role on the Systems Administration team, working closely with teammates in supporting critical infrastructure used by Kitware's research and development engineers and support staff across a diverse range of projects.
In This Position You Will:
- Support end-user hardware and software (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Participate in the support of Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows server infrastructure
- Support regulated and customer-sponsored computing environments, including environments subject to security clearance, as needed
- Assist in administering device management systems (Active Directory, JAMF, Puppet)
- Provide support for virtual infrastructure (VMware), cloud-computing services (AWS), and various cloud service providers
- Maintain backup infrastructure (Veeam)
- Configure networking, including firewalls, wireless networks, VPN tunnels, and VLANs
- Make recommendations on new system purchases (end-user and infrastructure)
- Maintain documentation in support of new technologies and applications
Required Qualifications:
- Due to contractual requirements, U.S. citizenship is required, along with the willingness and ability to obtain, use, and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in an IT-related field, with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent amount of education and experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Security+ or willingness to successfully obtain required certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Linux system administration and Active Directory management
- Experience working alongside software development teams
- Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks
