Are you an experienced tax professional with a passion for delivering exceptional service to high-net-worth families and family office clients? As a Senior Manager on our Family Office team, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to successful individuals, multi-generational families, family offices, and closely held businesses with complex tax, financial, and wealth planning needs.
In this role, you'll lead sophisticated tax compliance and advisory engagements, oversee complex family structures, and partner closely with clients and their advisors to help achieve long-term financial and legacy goals. You'll provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and help deliver the high-touch service experience that defines our Family Office practice.
Family Office Tax Advisory & Compliance
- Lead and review complex individual, trust, estate, partnership, and entity tax returns, ensuring accuracy and consistency across interconnected family structures.
- Advise clients on tax-efficient wealth preservation, estate and succession planning, charitable giving strategies, family governance matters, and closely held business interests.
- Coordinate tax planning across individuals, trusts, partnerships, LLCs, private investments, and family-owned operating entities.
- Serve as a technical resource on complex tax issues impacting high-net-worth families, family offices, estates, trusts, and multi-entity structures.
- Identify proactive planning opportunities related to income taxation, liquidity events, investment activities, wealth transfer, and legacy planning.
- Monitor tax law and regulatory developments and advise clients on the implications to their personal, business, and family office affairs.
- Review complex research and planning analyses to ensure high-quality client deliverables and strategic recommendations.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as a primary relationship leader and trusted advisor for family office clients and high-net-worth families.
- Develop a deep understanding of clients' financial objectives, family dynamics, and long-term planning priorities.
- Collaborate with attorneys, investment advisors, bankers, insurance professionals, and other external advisors to provide coordinated solutions.
- Deliver proactive guidance and exceptional service that strengthens client relationships and enhances the overall family office experience.
- Identify opportunities to expand service offerings and support the continued growth of the Family Office practice.
Team Leadership & Practice Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop Managers, Seniors, and Staff through coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
- Foster a collaborative environment focused on client service excellence, technical expertise, and professional development.
- Review work product across engagement teams to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Partner with leadership on staffing, workflow management, process improvement, and team development initiatives.
- Support training, knowledge sharing, recruiting, and practice-building efforts across the Family Office team.
Who You Are
- CPA license preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required
- 8+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience, including significant experience serving high-net-worth individuals, family offices, trusts, estates, and closely held businesses
- Demonstrated experience managing complex tax compliance and consulting engagements across multiple entity types
- Proven ability to lead client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to affluent families and business owners
- Strong knowledge of individual, trust, estate, partnership, and family office taxation
- Excellent communication, relationship management, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering a high-touch client experience
- Proficiency with tax software, research tools, and Microsoft Office
