Job Title: Technical Engineering - Business Unit Director

Location: Remote US

The Technical Engineering - Business Unit Director plays a critical leadership role in driving strategic growth, customer engagement, and technical innovation across our networking and technology-focused business. This role blends strategic planning, technical business development, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver tailored solutions in Design, VAVE, Test Development, and Manufacturing.

You will serve as a key decision-maker in our networking strategy, lead commercial negotiations, own P&L responsibilities, and guide the development of product roadmaps aligned with market and customer needs.

What can you expect to do?

Customer & Market Engagement

  • Act as the lead technical interface for key networking and technology customers.
  • Understand evolving customer needs and translate them into actionable technical solutions.

Product & Capability Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of product domain strategies.
  • Collaborate with sales to build product roadmaps aligned with pipeline opportunities.
  • Manage and align technology roadmaps between customers and internal divisions.

Technical Business Development

  • Support sales teams with complex technical requirements and solution selling.
  • Respond to RFPs, develop detailed Statements of Work (SOWs), and lead technical proposal creation.
  • Present and sell Jabil’s technology to senior-level customer stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Guide multi-disciplinary engineering teams through the product development cycle.
  • Align internal capabilities with customer and market demands.
  • Lead initiatives to develop and enhance internal technical capabilities.

Strategic & Financial Ownership

  • Own P&L for the business unit, ensuring profitability and growth.
  • Contribute to long-term business strategy and capability development planning.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and market trends to inform strategic direction.

What is the experience needed to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field required.
  • 12+ years of experience in networking switching design product development with a strong emphasis on networking technologies including SD-WAN, data center switching, and optical circuit switching. Proven expertise in optics and photonics, supporting high-performance systems for AI and High-Power Computing (HPC) environments. Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and strategic growth across complex hardware ecosystems.
  • Proven success in customer-facing roles within networking or complex manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of product development cycles, technical solution selling, and commercial negotiations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

The pay range for this role is $159,600 - $287,200. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity. The anticipated close date of this job requisition is: December 31, 2025.

As part of the total rewards package, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive based on performance. In addition, Jabil offers benefits to enhance your health, wealth, and resilient self. These include medical, dental, and vision insurance plans; paid time off accruing at a rate of 3.07 hours during your first year of employment; 4 weeks of paid parental leave; in 2026, 11 company-paid holidays (9 fixed holidays and 2 optional floating holidays), subject to change yearly; 401(k) retirement plan; and employee stock purchase plan.
