Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center seeks Technologist (multiple openings) in New York, NY.
DESCRIPTION:
Perform pretransfusion testing on overnight shift for patient/donor blood specimens and prepare blood components for transfusion per physician requests. Perform and maintain competency in the technical and related work of the Blood Bank Laboratory. Verify patient identification at all steps of every procedure. Perform blood analyses and enter test results into LIS (laboratory information system). Verify the accuracy of specimens and document specimen collection information in LIS. Review all test requests for errors, omissions, clarity, and potential problems. Verify that test requests are appropriate for the specimen received and that the specimen meets all requirements before proceeding.
(Work hours: 11pm to 7am M-F and every 3rd weekend Friday night and Saturday night).

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or closely related scientific discipline. Qualified applicants must have NYS Technologist License.
SALARY: $101,907.00 to $163,195.50/yr
