Transfer Pricing Tax Intern
As a Tax Intern in the National Transfer Pricing group, you will work closely with experienced transfer pricing staff on project and engagement management for complex, multinational clients. You will assist in all aspects of the identification and implementation of transfer pricing strategies and solutions for clients within our Grant Thornton international network of firms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in delivering transfer pricing projects which involve advice to clients on inter-company transfers of tangible goods, intangible property, services, and loans. Client deliverables could take the form of:
- Tax provision for GAAP financial statements
- Contemporaneous documentation to avoid tax penalties under Section 6662
- Initial identification and benchmarking of related party transactions
- Defense of transfer pricing determinations
- Conduct financial and economic analyses of multinational and domestic corporations, industry and market research, economic valuations, comparative financial benchmarking, and report documentation
- Assist in the preparation of valuation reports for closely held or publicly traded companies
- Maintain a good working relationship with clients and work effectively with client management and staff at all levels to gather information and perform tax services
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or master’s degree in business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or related area
- Tax accounting skills and some knowledge of GAAP
- Strong research and computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 3.0/4.0 preferred
- Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
- Strong technical aptitude and skillset
- Demonstrated project management skillset including project planning and time management
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a complex team environment
- Ability to travel on short notice and work additional hours as necessary

The pay rate for this position in the firm’s Manhattan, New York office is $40.00 per hour.
