Job Title: US High Yield Consumer Analyst

Corporate Title: Associate - Vice President

Overview

The US Debt Research Department at Deutsche Bank is a top provider of sell-side research and offers coverage across all major sectors.  We seek applicants with the relevant experience, deep industry relationships and current sector expertise to assume lead coverage of the US High Yield Consumer sector. 

The applicant will be responsible for leading the sector coverage in Consumer – which will include publishing Research, facilitating interactions with sales and trading, leading our marketing efforts with clients in the sector and working on new issues in both the bond and loan markets.  An ideal candidate would have both a deep knowledge of the relevant sector(s) as well as broad experience in the credit markets.

What You’ll Do

  • Formulation of company and sector-level credit investment theses
  • On-going authoring and production of written research to promote investment views
  • Marketing of those views to internal and external clients
  • Leveraging relationships with companies under coverage as part of channel checks and due diligence efforts
  • Organizing and participate in client events and conferences
  • Maintenance of financial models in support of investment views
  • Data gathering, aggregation and analysis
  • Managing/mentoring junior staff aligned with the sector
  • Cross-asset class collaboration with colleagues in equity research and distressed products

How You’ll Lead

  • The analyst role has daily interactions with internal risk-takers on the Sales & Trading team and key external clients

Skills You’ll Need

  • Proven sector-specific work experience in sell-side research, investment banking, private equity and/or investment management
  • Experience working with sell side sales and trading desks
  • Experience working with buy side clients and managing relationships with C-level executives at target coverage companies.
  • Experience/expertise at identifying opportunities across the capital structure (loans/bonds).
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York, NY is $135,000 - $210,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
