We are seeking an Assistant Vice President, UX Designer to lead user experience design efforts across Blackstone's Finance & Operations technology portfolio. This individual will play a key role in shaping the end-to-end experience for a broad suite of applications that support fund operations, investor servicing, reporting, document administration, onboarding, financial data management, and operational workflows.

The ideal candidate is passionate about understanding users, simplifying complex business processes, and translating sophisticated financial and operational concepts into intuitive digital experiences. This role will work closely with product managers, engineers, business stakeholders, and fellow designers to define and deliver thoughtful, user-centered solutions across both internal and investor-facing applications.

This position offers the opportunity to influence the future state of critical business platforms while contributing to the evolution of design standards and user experience practices across the Investor Portal ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Lead UX design initiatives across multiple Finance & Operations applications and product workstreams.

  • Partner with Product Managers and Engineering teams to define product vision, user workflows, and experience strategies.

  • Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, workflow analysis, and usability testing to identify user needs and opportunities for improvement.

  • Create user journeys, task flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that enable intuitive and efficient experiences.

  • Translate complex financial and operational processes into simple, scalable, and elegant user interfaces.

  • Identify opportunities to improve consistency and usability through adoption of design systems and shared UX patterns.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure high-quality implementation of designs.

  • Leverage user feedback, analytics, and business insights to inform design decisions and prioritization.

  • Present design concepts and recommendations to stakeholders across technology and business organizations.

  • Champion user-centered design principles and advocate for best practices across the product development process.

  • Contribute to the continuous evolution of the Investor Portal design system and overall user experience framework.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in UX, Product Design, Interaction Design, or related disciplines.

  • Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent practical experience.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work, including research, problem definition, workflow design, and user interface design.

  • Experience designing complex web-based applications and workflow-driven enterprise products.

  • Experience working with, contributing to, and scaling enterprise design systems, including reusable components, patterns, and accessibility standards.

  • Proficiency with modern design and AI-enabled prototyping tools such as Figma.

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies and design thinking principles.

  • Experience designing decisions effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience collaborating within Agile product development environments.

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Preferred Quallifications

  • Experience designing products within financial services, asset management, fintech, or enterprise operations environments.

  • Experience designing dashboards, reporting experiences, workflow systems, or operational platforms.

  • Familiarity with data visualization and information architecture best practices.

  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing programs.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

  • Experience working within established design systems and component libraries.

Expected annual base salary range:

$140,000 - $200,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
