Profound is the marketing platform for the age of AI search. The way brands reach people is being rewritten — AI models like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode are now the answer layer between companies and their customers. We built the platform marketers use to understand, measure, and win in that world: the analytics, intelligence, and agent automation that turn AI search from a threat into a competitive advantage.

We went from 0 to a $1B valuation in 18 months. Revenue grew 100x last year. Our customers include 15% of the Fortune 500 like Walmart, Wayfair and U.S. Bank, and innovators like Ramp, MongoDB, and Figma. We are backed by Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, LSVP, and Khosla Ventures — and we are moving fast enough that the people joining now are building the playbook everyone who comes after them will run.

As a Value Consultant at Profound, you will sit at the intersection of sales, product, and customer success, helping enterprise prospects and customers understand the value of Profound’s platform and how it can be tailored to their needs. You will own the technical and strategic side of the pre-sales process, translating customer goals into scalable solutions that drive measurable outcomes.

What you’ll do
  • Partner with account executives and presales teams throughout complex enterprise sales cycles to establish a compelling, financially grounded business case.

  • Understand a customer's current-state processes, costs, operational challenges, strategic priorities, and desired outcomes.

  • Build customized ROI, TCO, payback, NPV, and value realization models that quantify the economic impact of proposed solutions.

  • Translate operational improvements—such as productivity gains, cost reduction, revenue growth, risk reduction, process efficiency, and automation—into financial outcomes.

  • Develop executive-ready business cases, value assessments, and presentations that help customers justify investment decisions.

  • Facilitate discovery sessions with business, finance, IT, and executive stakeholders to identify and validate value drivers.

  • Work with customers to define a baseline/current state, target future state, and measurable benefits associated with the transformation.

  • Quantify both hard-dollar benefits and strategic/operational benefits, clearly distinguishing between validated value and modeled assumptions.

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior executives, including CFO, CIO, COO, and business-unit leadership.

  • Help sales teams overcome budget objections by connecting technology capabilities to business outcomes and financial impact.

  • Support late-stage deal strategy by demonstrating economic differentiation versus competing approaches or maintaining the status quo.

  • Develop value-realization frameworks that allow customers to track whether projected benefits are actually achieved after implementation.

  • Continuously improve reusable ROI methodologies, financial models, benchmarks, calculators, and value-selling tools.

Who you are
  • Experience in value engineering, business value consulting, presales, strategic consulting, management consulting, financial analysis, or enterprise technology.

  • Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills.

  • Ability to understand complex technology and translate technical capabilities into business and financial outcomes.

  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills.

  • Comfortable working directly with customers during high-value enterprise sales cycles.

  • Ability to operate with incomplete information and develop transparent, defensible assumptions.

  • Experience building executive-facing business cases.

  • Strong commercial judgment and understanding of enterprise buying processes.
