Your team

The Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) Tax team is part of BlackRock’s broader Product Tax organization and supports a leading global alternatives investment platform. The team partners closely with investment, legal, finance, and operational stakeholders across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Asia Pacific to deliver tax advice on complex infrastructure investments and fund structures. This role offers significant exposure to transaction activity, and cross-functional teams while contributing to the continued growth and evolution of the infrastructure platform.

Your role and impact

As a Vice President within the GIP Tax team, you will provide tax advisory and structuring support across infrastructure investments throughout the Americas. You will play a key role in evaluating new opportunities, designing efficient investment structures, coordinating with tax advisors and managing tax risks for investments throughout their life cycle. The position requires close collaboration with deal teams, external advisors, investors, and internal stakeholders to help deliver commercial outcomes while maintaining appropriate tax governance and oversight.

Your responsibilities

The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:

  • Advise on Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) tax matters across the investment lifecycle, including tax due diligence of prospective targets, structuring of investments and holding structures, review and negotiation of legal documentation, and ongoing oversight of investments and their fund structures.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for infrastructure deal teams, providing guidance on tax considerations relating to acquisitions, investment structures, financing arrangements, and related transactions.
  • Engage with investment sponsors, and counterparties to address tax-related requests, respond to queries, and support negotiation of tax provisions within transaction documentation.
  • Partner closely with colleagues across the global Product Tax organization and other regional tax teams to align approaches and share expertise on cross-border matters.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and operational stakeholders to support implementation of investment structures, fund flows, and related business initiatives.
  • Monitor developments in domestic and international tax legislation and assess potential impacts on investment structures, and underlying portfolio investments.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable tax policies, governance frameworks, operational processes, and efficiencies that support continued platform growth.

Your experience

  • Law degree, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification, or comparable professional tax credential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in private infrastructure fund and investment taxation within the Americas.
  • Strong understanding of fund vehicles, investment holding structures, and cross-border tax considerations relevant to infrastructure investments.
  • Experience advising on transaction-related tax matters, including tax due diligence, structuring, modelling support, and legal documentation review.
  • General knowledge of corporate tax, transfer pricing, and value-added tax (VAT) issues relevant to global asset management organizations.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively to a broad range of stakeholders, including investment professionals, legal teams, finance partners, and investors.
  • Proven success operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities and working across global teams.
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$190,000.00 - USD$250,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
