Company Overview

Arcesium is a global financial technology firm that solves complex data-driven challenges faced by some of the world’s most sophisticated financial institutions. We constantly innovate our platform and capabilities to meet tomorrow’s challenges, anticipate the risks our clients encounter, and design advanced solutions to help our clients achieve transformational business outcomes.

Financial technology is a high-growth industry as change and innovation continue to disrupt the status-quo and prompt major transformation. Arcesium is at a particularly interesting time in our own growth as we look to leverage our successfully established market position and expand operations in pursuit of strategic new business opportunities. We value intellectual curiosity, proactive ownership, and collaboration with colleagues, and we empower you to meaningfully contribute from day one and accelerate your professional development.

Position Summary

As we continue to grow and expand our market presence, we are seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial VP to join our dynamic Strategy team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the long-term success of the organization and shape the future of our business. At Arcesium, the Corporate Strategy team oversees the firm's organic growth strategy, M&A agenda, as well as new strategic initiatives. The team is comparatively lean in headcount and reports directly to the CEO. As a VP within the team, you will contribute across both strategy and M&A. On the M&A side, you will evaluate investment and acquisition opportunities and drive deals from origination through close. You will represent Arcesium externally across the investment ecosystem, including with bankers, PE sponsors, founders, and other strategic counterparties, and will work extensively with cross-functional teams and our Board. On the strategy side, you will support key strategic planning processes, evaluate growth opportunities, and help drive initiatives that shape Arcesium's competitive positioning. Your insights and recommendations will guide key business decisions and contribute to the overall growth and success of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Strategy and work with other team members across deal processes, including target identification, financial modeling, due diligence coordination, and transaction execution
  • Contribute to the ongoing acquisition pipeline through proactive sourcing and evaluation of candidates aligned with Arcesium's strategic priorities
  • Develop an approach to investing into earlier stage companies that is robust and scalable for the organization
  • Prepare high-quality materials for executive and board-level audiences, including deal memos and strategic analyses
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Product, HR) across transaction and integration workflows
  • Represent Arcesium across the investment ecosystem, with investment bankers, PE sponsors, venture investors, and other potential counterparties
  • Build and maintain a network of relationships that generates proprietary deal flow and strategic intelligence across both the Labs and M&A mandates
  • Help design new strategic initiatives as Arcesium's strategic agenda evolves
  • Define scope and opportunity of the strategic initiative, set KPIs
  • Conduct market research to substantiate and validate the opportunity
  • Partner with Product, Technology, and Commercial teams to agree the opportunity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA or advanced degree a plus
  • 7–12 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, principal investing, private equity, venture capital, or a combination of the above
  • Demonstrated experience running or significantly contributing to deal processes (M&A, minority investments, or growth equity)
  • Strong financial modeling skills (LBO, DCF, venture return frameworks)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to represent Arcesium credibly with senior external counterparties and internal leadership alike
  • Self-starter with a bias for action, who is comfortable with ambiguity and capable of driving outcomes without a large team behind them
  • Prior exposure to financial technology, data infrastructure, B2B SaaS, or capital markets technology preferred
  • Experience in a corporate development function at a technology company, or a principal investing role with meaningful deal ownership preferred
  • Experience leveraging AI and LLM tools to make corporate development work more efficient preferred

The expected annual base salary for this position is $270,000- $320,000. Our compensation package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, and 401k contribution matching.

The applicable annual base salary paid to a successful applicant will be determined based on multiple factors including without limitation the nature and extent of prior experience and educational background.
