About the position:

This position offers the opportunity to help manage a dynamic multi-billion dollar corporate and leveraged finance portfolio across various verticals. You will work closely with our sponsor and industry specific sector coverage teams, risk management, capital markets, financial markets, and our portfolio analytics team. The position requires a self-starter to manage transactions and guide projects independently and someone who can effectively operate at various levels of seniority in different situations.

About the department:

L&SC PM is part of a global portfolio management platform and a pillar of Lending’s capital strategy. The team is considered experts on the individual borrowers and relevant industry subject matter.

Responsibilities:

You will assume the role of a senior banker performing all aspects of managing a large portfolio of senior secured loans for primarily sub-investment grade clients while mentoring and training the junior bankers.

  • Lead execution and negotiation of post-origination transactions such as amendments, waivers, refinancing, and occasionally workouts / restructurings
  • Oversee preparation of borrower analytics including financial updates, financial modeling, credit approval packages, market comparables and quarterly reporting statements.
  • Ongoing portfolio management responsibility for a group of selected accounts – monitoring and tracking credit performance, quarterly / annual reviews, regulatory and internal risk rating updates, etc.
  • Interpret and negotiate legal documentation while staying up to date on latest market trends
  • Identify new business opportunities with existing clients, e.g. recommend Financial Market products
  • Assist in handling internal system processing and KYC/CDD data gathering and processing where necessary
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Risk Management, Compliance and Loan Operations teams

Qualifications and Competencies

  • You hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting / Mathematics with excellent results. An advanced degree and/or a CFA is a plus.
  • You have previously received credit training and have a solid understanding of debt products
  • 5+ years of corporate and / or leveraged lending plus loan portfolio management experience from a US regulated bank considered for Vice President
  • Advanced understanding of transaction structuring and legal documentation
  • Formal credit training is a plus
  • Able to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Experience taking internal credit approval processes from start to finish
  • Excellent understanding of GAAP accounting statements & principles
  • Understand debt structuring and able to make recommendations when appropriate
  • Excel spreadsheets: three statement financial modeling skills are a must
  • You possess strong communication skills – writing sample required
  • You have strong credit skills – understand how to properly analyze risk
  • You are highly detailed in your work
  • You are self-motivated and willing to work in a deal oriented and deadline driven environment
  • You are able to manage and prioritize competing demands
  • You desire to work in a collaborative manner in contribution toward team objectives
  • You assist in developing junior talent and promote best practices

Salary Range $185,000-$240,000

The salary range listed reflects base salary only. This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
