Overview:

Guidepoint is seeking a Vice President, Private Market Data & Intelligence to lead the build-out of a structured research product function within our Insights business.

Guidepoint has built a differentiated primary research engine and this role will unlock its next phase of growth by transforming proprietary expert insights into structured, scalable intelligence products that redefine private markets research. You will define the research frameworks, workflows, and product strategy that convert qualitative expert insights into monetizable research products such as structured datasets, dashboards, benchmarks, and packaged intelligence solutions designed for private equity and institutional investors.

What You’ll Own

  1. Research Product Strategy & Development
    • Define the future state of private markets intelligence within Guidepoint
    • Design and launch structured research products built from Transcripts, Surveys, and AI-moderated interviews
    • Create best practices around:
    • Research depth and sourcing strategy
    • Signal density across companies and sectors
    • Standardized packaging and delivery formats
    • Develop benchmarked datasets, company intelligence profiles, thematic data packs, and dashboard solutions and shift elements of the existing Insights function toward structured product orientation
    • Build and manage a research product / data science team and collaborate closely with content vertical leadership, operations, and product teams to embed scalable workflows
    • Maintain market understanding and competitive positioning of similar solutions
  2. Signals & Data Structuring
    • Establish a repeatable framework for extracting “signals” from expert conversations
    • Translate unstructured qualitative insights into standardized, comparable datasets
    • Define what constitutes high-value signal across diligence, investment, and sector-monitoring use cases
    • Modernize taxonomy and data architecture to support scalable structuring
    • Partner with AI, engineering, data science and product teams to automate signal extraction and advance structured data capabilities (including API development)
    • Implement data integrity, validation, and quality control standards
  3. Revenue & Monetization
    • Own commercialization, pricing and packaging strategy for structured private markets products
    • Develop tiered offerings aligned to client workflows
    • Define and evolve Guidepoint’s channel and external data platform strategy and identify marketplace and channel distribution opportunities
    • Partner with Sales on go-to-market strategy and enterprise deals
    • Participate directly in strategic client conversations
    • Drive measurable revenue growth and ARPU expansion

What Success Looks Like

  • Launch of institutional-grade and scalable private company datasets, dashboards and benchmark products with cross-company comparability
  • Clear, standardized signal extraction framework across private markets coverage
  • Increased revenue and client adoption within private equity and institutional segments
  • Structured, repeatable data architecture enabling cross-company comparisons

What You Have

  • 7-10+ years in alternative data, research platforms, or structured intelligence products
  • Proven track record of productizing primary research into revenue-generating data products or building data-as-a-service product platforms
  • Strong framework builder: able to define who to interview, how deep to go, and how to standardize signal extraction
  • Experience building or managing research teams and collaborating with AI and data science teams
  • Commercial or product marketing experience with ability to define value proposition, client personas, set pricing, determine packaging, and leading go-to-market strategy for data products aimed at Financial and Professional Services Firms
  • Experience building structured research products from messy qualitative datasets at firms such as: YipitData, Grata, CB Insights, PitchBook, Alphasense, M Science, or similar intelligence / data-driven platforms
  • OR experience building structured diligence intelligence products within private equity, consulting, or institutional research environments

What We Offer: 

The annual base salary range for this position is $220,000 - $250,000. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
