Role Overview:

As the Vice President of Product Design, you define and lead the strategic vision for the product design function across the company, ensuring that design is deeply integrated into the product development process and aligned with the company’s broader objectives. You oversee Housecall Pro’s design team, driving innovation and delivering world-class user experiences that delight customers and support business growth. Your leadership is key in shaping the design culture, developing design talent, and fostering collaboration between design, product management, and engineering to ensure cohesive, user-centered solutions to the most pressing problems.

Your ability to balance visionary thinking with operational excellence enables the design organization to consistently deliver high-impact work that enhances both the user experience and the company’s competitive position in the market. You ensure that the design team is focused on solving the right problems while maintaining a clear vision of the customer journey.

What you do each day:

  • Define the vision for the product design function, ensuring it aligns with the company’s overall mission and objectives
  • Lead and scale a high-performing design organization, mentoring and developing design leaders and fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and growth
  • Oversee the development and execution of design strategies that drive innovation, enhance the user experience, and deliver measurable business results
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams (product management, engineering, marketing) to ensure design is integrated into all aspects of the product development process
  • Champion the value of design thinking across the company, advocating for a user-centered approach in product development and strategic decision-making
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of design initiatives, using data-driven insights to improve outcomes and optimize processes
  • Drive the development and scaling of a generative design system to ensure consistency, efficiency, and innovation across the product 
  • Identify opportunities for new design processes, tools, and technologies that enhance the company’s competitive advantage

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in product design, with at least 10 years in a leadership role managing large design teams
  • Experience working with SaaS / Fintech platforms
  • Track record of integrating AI and emerging technologies into organizational strategy and operations to accelerate innovation and scale
  • Experience successfully  leading design teams in developing innovative, customer-focused products at scale
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and design systems
  • Experience collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to influence product strategy and drive business growth

Location Dependent Information

This role is open to candidates and the expected salary range for this role is $200k-$290k OTE + Equity. The specific salary for the successful candidate will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible to participate in Housecall Pro’s equity plan and the following benefits: health care insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability), employee assistance program, 401(K), flexible time off, paid parental leave, tech reimbursement, and other company benefits.
