Who you areMetropolis is seeking a VP, Treasury & Working Capital to build and lead a modern, AI-enabled global treasury function that safeguards liquidity, optimizes capital, and enables disciplined scaling of the business. This role moves Treasury from a transactional utility to a strategic control point for capital velocity, risk management, and operational leverage. In this role, you will not just manage our cash; you will control the entire lifecycle of how cash enters, sits, and exits the business. By uniting Treasury, Accounts Payable, and Procurement under a single leader, your mandate is to drive liquidity sovereignty. You will influence the company’s capital allocation strategy, manage strict debt covenants, aggressively optimize our working capital, and architect the systems that automate our global cash disbursement. This is a role for a battle-tested builder who has navigated complex, highly-levered environments and knows how to hunt for enterprise value in every vendor contract and bank fee. This is a hands-on leadership role: equal parts operator, architect, and strategic advisor to the CFO.
What you'll do- Control the outflow by directing all functions responsible for disbursing cash, ensuring absolute alignment between procurement commitments, AP aging, and treasury liquidity
- Audit vendor terms, transition legacy check payments to ACH/virtual cards, and extend Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) to maximize operating cash flow
- Partner with the business to enforce strict procurement hygiene, eliminating maverick spend and ensuring all capital outlays are strategically sequenced to protect minimum cash floor; automate cash positioning and build an early warning liquidity telemetry system
- Deliver highly accurate, automated 13-week cash forecasts; navigate seasonal liquidity troughs with precision, ensuring the business never unnecessarily draws on the $150M Revolver
- Conduct rigorous management of daily cash positioning; treat Treasury as a profit center by optimizing yield on concentration accounts and ruthlessly cutting redundant bank fees
- Serve as the primary steward of our financing instruments; oversee flawless execution of interest payments, financing leases, and amortization schedules
- Execute hedging strategies for interest rate and FX exposure to immunize the P&L against market volatility; lead communication with our banking syndicate
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of a new Treasury Management System (TMS) and modern Procure-to-Pay (P2P) platform; successfully migrate operations off legacy infrastructure into a unified, automated ecosystem
- Audit and optimize merchant processing fees and interchange rates across hundreds of millions in annual payment volume; manage strict adherence to our debt covenant with zero margin for error
- Lead, mentor, and rebuild a high-performing team across Treasury, AP, and Procurement; instill a culture of systems-over-spreadsheets and people-first leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Corporate Treasury, Finance, and Operations, with direct oversight of AP and Procurement functions
- Extensive experience in PE-backed or highly-levered environments
- Proven track record of managing tight liquidity constraints, complex debt structures, and stringent covenants
- Demonstrated experience leading full-scale TMS and/or P2P implementations (e.g., Kyriba, Coupa) and migrating off legacy systems
- Strong communicator who can manage banking syndicates, drive internal alignment, and inspire a large operational team
- MBA, CPA, or CTP designation
